“End of the World Train”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Recently went on the End of the World train - as part of a visit to Tierra del Fuego NP.
A bit confusing at the station as the introduction was only done in Spanish on the train I got on, and I didnt understand.
Once on the train everything was bi-lingual and a lovely trip. Great views and nice to stop along the way.
Make sure you pay for and hang on to the National Park entry fee ticket as it is checked by rangers as you disembark the train.

“A fun experience”
Reviewed April 19, 2013

We took the train ride into the park during our stay in Ushuaia. Since we were traveling with a one year old, we elected not to proceed further into the park itself, but rather returned on the train directly (2 hour experience overall). We chose to pay more and sit in "premium class" which was much more spacious, and luckily for us we had the entire car to ourselves. The regular seats looked quite tight and with the low ceilings the tourist class cars appeared a bit claustrophobic. I am not sure that there is space to put down a backpack or stroller in the regular cars. That being said, if you are looking to save money the regular seats may be reasonable if you are ok with tight spaces (~1 hour trip to the park itself). The sandwiches served to us in premium class were nothing special. During the first stop of the train, we were able to see a small waterfall as well as wild horses who were not particularly shy (very entertaining to my young daughter). The second stop is within the park itself where bathrooms are found and from which point further excursions into the park are possible (need to be pre-booked I think). As a warning, the fee for the train itself can be paid with cash (including U.S. dollars) or Visa, but there is a separate 110 peso fee per person to enter the Tierra del Fuego park which must be paid in cash only before boarding the train.

“A cute little train”

This was a very interesting experience, and a perfect thing to do in the cold weather. They serve you hot chocolate and cookies on board, and explain everything about the train and the Yamana people. Highly recommended.

“A unique experience at the end of the world.”

Interesting to learn about the history of this area and how the convicts were treated. The train meanders through beautiful forests and was lovely to do in the cold weather & fog.

“Touristy but fun”

A great thing to do on a rainy day, but it is quite overpriced. A lovely old train though and quite interesting.
