“Great Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

We made our own way on a local bus to Tierra del Fuego Park to get on the train as the cost was certainly a lot cheaper than the cruise company wanted. It was more like a Thomas the Tank Train so would be great if you had children with you. It was unbelievable that Prisoners were transported this way (not of course in the comfort we had) the scenery was something out of a film and rather erry however all of a sudden there were Stallions some with their young fowls. We also stopped to look at the waterfalls and saw various birds. The journey in all took about 1 and half hours. It would have been nice to be able to spend more time in the park maybe if and when we return.

“Fun to do. Great scenery!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Pleasant way to spend a morning. Take the bus ride to the end of the Pan American Highway to see the Beagle Channel.. The road is unpaved after you leave the train stop. Be sure to stop at the Post Office which is the southern most post office in the world. The postal worker is a character and lots of fun!

“Old fashioned train ride”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

This is definitely a tourist train, nothing else, but it is a fun, if expensive, ride into the wilderness of the southern tip of Argentina. Recorded commentary gives a lot of information about the founding of Tierra del Fuego, but it is not always easy to hear the English version because, once the Spanish version finishes, all the Spanish people start talking and make it impossible to hear the speaker. Stops along the way include places to take photographs. All in all, lots of fun.

“Tourist Trap”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

The one way ride is just ok, very crowded and toruisty with ok scenery. I was expecting a full size train, but it's much smaller, almost like a giant toy. The park is beautiful, but the train can be omitted.
