On arrival reception staff were very friendly and spoke reasonable English. The room was a reasonable size although a little dated. The view from the bedroom window was spectacular across the Beagle Channel to the mountains. The room was nice and warm and the bathroom was OK with a whirlpool bath and hairdryer. There were some English channels on the TV including BBC World News. There was free WiFi in reception. We ate in the restaurant on two nights and could not reccommend it. The food was bland, tepid and the service was poor. The Hotel offers a free shuttle into town where there are many places to eat. The breakfast was average for Argentina i.e. toast, croissants, cheap ham and cheese slices and orange squash.
In summing up, fantastic location, but eat in town.

the view is to die for
we found the location not so problematic as the restaurant offer a fare deal (OK food for 20$ US) but the room and espacily the bathroom need renovation and some improvment.
The breakfast also was poor.

Stayed two nights at the hotel - we had a room with view over the Beagle Canal. The hotel is in a quiet area a little bit outside the main town. It is an advantage to have a car or travelling by group with a car / minibus. Friendly staff at the reception, unfortunately the "parilla" is only on Sundays.

I'd say it was all right, but with a pretty poor breakfast - and no eggs!

Stunning location on the Beagle Channel overlooking Navarino Island. Really friendly and helpful staff. Thoroughly recommend Room 28 - a junior suite (approx 400 pesos) ; one of the best hotel rooms we've ever had.
As previously stated, the only disappointment was the rather ordinary breakfasts.
Taxi to/from Ushuaia 12 - 14 pesos (under £3).

Great location. Very friendly staff. 10 minutes drive ( regular complimentary shuttle is available and cab is dirt cheap) to the center of the town. Log and brick buildings not particularly "in a middle of nowhere" but very close to it. Space around "filled up" by the cleanest air imaginable. Views " to die for". Food in a restaurant is good and not expensive. Breakfast is boring, but still OK,- too much carbs. Overall- good place.

Not quite in the centre of town, its actually located just a 5 minute ride into town along the bay with a spectacular view.

The staff were perhaps the most helpful hotel staff i've ever met. Our pre-organized tours (with another tour company) had not shown up and completely left us on our own, and the Hotel staff went far out of their way to try to help us salvage our short time in Ushuaia. They managed to find and book us onto the same tours with another company - all while my wife and i ate at the hotels restaurant.

The restaurant was wonderful. Steak and King Crab and wine dinners for three nights for two people - less than 100$Cdn. And the quality was great! I don't feel i missed out on forgoing a restaurant in the town centre. The buffet breakfast was plenty filling and good selection - continental style breakfast.

They were very quick to offer a new room when we asked if the temperature could be increased. They entered the room, noted the unusual low temperature, and immediately brought us a portable heater after we declined their offer of a new room.

We had a basic room, which was more than large enough, and it was very clean. The shower had plenty of hot water, and i recommend trying to get a room with a bay view.
