“Worth a 12-hour plane ride”
Reviewed January 6, 2013

The park is not to be missed, especially "the last kilometer on earth," at the very tip of South America. Stunning water vistas plus we saw red fox, nesting geese, calafate bushes and all other matter of local fauna and flora. We spent too much time on a tour being led around. If I had it to do over, I'd go into the park on our own to hike and take our time.

“Gorgeous”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

We visited as part of an organized tour and hit the highlights of the park. I really enjoyed it and was glad to learn about the natives who inhabited the land and hunted whales off the water ways. Also enjoyed seeing all the bird life and sending a postcard form the southernmost post office in the world (or so they claim)!

“Absolutely beautiful with plenty of options”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

I went to the park through the tour company Best-Tours Patagonia that offer a number of options from half-day to multi-day treks. Our full-day tour was part walking and part canoeing, with an age range from 8 to 65. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous, and guides are not necessary in the park; a cab or shuttle will get you into the park where you can hike at your own pace and camp if you'd like. Don't go to Ushuaia without visiting the park!

“Great for walking.”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

There's no need to book a tour and guide to visit Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego as there are several mini bus companies that run buses out to the park with 5 or 6 drop off and pick up points in the park. We did the walk that flows the shore line and then joins route national 3. It takes about 3/4 hours depending on how many times you stop to take photos!
It's worth calling in at the visitors centre to see the views but take a packed lunch rather than eating there as the food is poor.
We finished off our days walking by connecting the short trail 1 and short trail 3 to get us the the end of park. It's a bit tricky to follow the bit that connects to 2 trails but worth the effort and the short section where you walk on the road.

“Nice place”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

The park is beautiful, and has the history of the prision that makes it interesting. Don´t expect much of the train ride, in nice, it goes thru some beautiful places, with very nice views, and makes a short stop close to a river. It´s worth to do the ride. Besides that there´s a lot of areas in the park where you can camp or do some trekking. For those who like nature I recommend.
