We stayed 3 nights here and had a perfect stay. The owner Sylvia is very kind and gives good information. We were a little bit late from our busride from Punta Arenas and she was able to book by herself 2 lastminute trips for the Beagle Channel with Patagonia Adventures and the pinguïn spotting with Piratours. (excellent tours and we recommend to do both tours in 1 day). Sylvia serves a perfect breakfast with homemade yoghurt, fresh (real) orange juice and brown/white toast and also cake. She even let us try to drink maté! The bedrooms are very clean with wood and comfortable beds and quiet sleeps. Also the bathroom is spotless and all made from wood, very cozy. The showers are hot and good pressure. If you are looking for a perfect homestay with a good location to the citycenter, this is the one for you!

La Casa is a small, quaint B&B. Owner Sylvia is friendly, helpful with good information for tourists.
La Casa rooms are basic with shared bath but comfortable and spotlessly clean with daily service.
Everything in Ushuaia is uphill or down; La Casa is centrally located but be prepared for hill walking. I loved Ushuaia, hope to visit again and will stay with Sylvia at La Casa again. I highly recommend for the independent traveler.

Small little B&B run by a sweet lady named Sylvia. It's pretty spotless, very quiet, great views and a short walk from the main road. Most of the rooms I think share a bathroom. You'll find a great mix of people staying here from all over the world. Sylvia can help point you in the direction of whatever you might need to find in town.

From chatting to one of the guests over breakfast, we found a great place to book a last min. cruise to Antarctica.

Be warned about breakfast - it is basic, no huevos here! You'll get tea/coffee, and probably all the toast/butter/jam you can eat- and a glass of drinkable yougurt. There is no cooking in the kitchen either and eggs are NOT available upon request.

In busy season, Ushuaia is not the cheapest place to stay, so accordingly I think Sylvia was pretty fairly priced for what she offers.

You also need to bring your own toiletries. I do wish there were some simple things in the bathroom: a hand towel, a bath mat and a trash can would be nice.

Overall our stay was great, slept like a rock, was happy for the peace and quiet.

Room Tip: They are all good - all have a view I believe.

This is a small, peaceful B&B just one block up from the main street running through town. Nice views of the mountains and the bay from the rooms. Most all the rooms have shared baths. You will find a mix of world travelers here. Most going to or coming from Antarctica via cruise ships. A pleasant basic breakfast is served. There is no guest use of the kitchen.

Room Tip: It appears all the rooms face out to the mountains and bay.

Sylvia the owner is very nice. Not a place to go if you have a lot of luggage and can't handle tight stairs. Getting luggage down to basement rooms is tricky. Shared bathrooms in most if not all rooms. A good value at roughly $50-60 US if that is what you want and the location is good. Just be aware of what you are getting. Lovely views and a short walk to downtown. Very clean and nice breakfast.

Room Tip: Windows open in room which is wonderful to set your own temperature.

we enjoyed our stay at La Casa
it was clean, and so was the shared bathroom. each bathroom is shared by two rooms so it was not too busy.
Lady of the house was friendly yet very respectful of people s privacy.
very cosy and i wish i got to use the garden but it was pretty cold when we were there.
I like to go back someday.

I found La Casa Del Silvia via trip advisor and thought to give it a try based on the reviews. The lady that runs the place is very sweet, but the accommodations were just average, and over priced. My friends staying at Freestyler hostel were paying $80 pesos a night and I'm stuck here paying $$$

The room was spacious, great light and a nice view of bay of Ushuaia. The beds were small twins, like military size twin beds and the bathroom was very small. The shower was so tiny...

The breakfast might as well bring your own breakfast! She served the same thing every morning for breakfast, toast and a choice of tea or imitation coffee, and powder orange juice. The location is alright it is a nice walk to town. The stair case leading down stairs to the bedrooms is a little scary and make SURE to bring your own soaps, hair dyers, etc...nothing is provided.
