“Amazing experience in Ushuaia”
Reviewed February 17, 2013 via mobile

Went there with my girlfriend. The food was great as well as the service. The view is an extra feature, as the restaurant is just by the shore. Want to go back!

“Ok food, great atmosphere and view, a bit posh?”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

I was unexpectedly invited by a friend, so I went there wearing hiking shoes, jeans and a jumper. Maybe because of that the waiter seemed pretty cold and not particularly kind. Luckily we finally got served by a very nice waitress :) . The picada we ordered didn't have all the things it said on the menu (but it had some king crab extra, so that's ok). Cheese was cheap supermarket stuff and probably some of the hams too. Bread was delicious. That's all I tried, so for food you'd be better off at Ramos Generales. The view and the setting, though, are spectacular. The place is worth a visit if you don't mind paying some extra.

“Great food, out of the way, nice view”
Reviewed February 13, 2013 via mobile

We went early - at 7pm, and it was empty (on a Wed). When we left at 10pm, only 4 tables were filled which was surprising given the ambiance and great food. The place is cozy inside - exactly what you expect from a mountain village - exposed stone and wood beams. It was out of the way, a $6 cab ride from north of the city. The service was okay - the server brought the wrong food and it was hard to get his attention, but otherwise very amiable. We ordered a bottle of wine - $18US and several appetizers, king crab, mussels and fried calamari. I definitely recommend the calamari or crab - both moist and fresh. We had the cod with olive tapenade, black ravioli with seafood sauce, and, tenderloin with black pepper sauce - all cost between $25-$30US per entree. The cod was overcooked for my taste but both the pasta and beef were excellent. There is a $1.25US service charge per person for bread - delivered hot and fresh. Overall very good, but from what I've heard any of the top rated restaurants are worth checking out.

“Lost in the middle of the end of the world”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

At the tourist office, the woman said that we could walk easely from the town center to the Kuar restaurant. So we walked, along the main road and the ocean, and walked through bad looking Ushuaia suburb and endly arrived ! By chance, a table was free, in this so friendly bar restaurant, up the seaside. We ordered some fish-based dishes, a white argentinian wine, all was very fresh and well prepared. Smiling service, too. Well, we spent a very good time in this trendy restaurant with a magnificient sunset behind the snowtoped mountains around Ushuaia. We asked for a taxi to come back to our hotel.

“The Restaurant at the end of the world”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

About 10 minutes out of town by taxi. Set right on the waters edge with the most spectacular views of Beagle Sound and wild life right outside the window. The maitre D was as good as you could find anywhere and the food was superb, particularly the Black Hake with Black rissotto. We took the suggested wine from way up north near Boliviar made from the Torrentes grape and it was superb. All in all a must
