We had dinner there , because we couldn't t get a table in the Viejo marino. The king crab dishes were excellent and at a very reasonable price . A lot of crab for 1100 peso . Paid in total 4400 with 2 bottles of wine!

Our tour guide said this was the place to go for lunch, so we went directly after checking in to our hotel...OK but not great. Service was slow. Soup was watery. Fish was OK.

This restaurant was recommended by friends, so after long sailing in the afternoon we entered this place right after leaving the sea port. Traveling through the world you notice quickly how place is cared. So, the first doubt came into my mind while waiting in the entrance to be seated and observing chaotic runs of the waiters. After asking a passing by waiter if they could suggest us a table, we were offered one. Tabled was quickly cleaned and prepared. While taking our order and answering our questions about the menu, I noticed how in a hurry was our waiter, not paying much attention to our ‘bothering’ detailed questions :) Finally our request was noted (and not on the paper) so our waiter could ‘escape’ and continue chaotic flies between cleaning glasses, serving tables and running here and there (noting here that restaurant was about 80% full). I should admit that wine by glasses was served at generous amount. After waiting for 20min we got one soup served assuming that 2nd ordered soup would come as well. Nothing arrived and after asking the waiter he got confused with the order so we had to wait for another 10 minutes. Continue observing this chaotic amateur service and careless attitude to the customers we decided to cancel our main course (crab), pay for the served soups and wine/water and leave the place. Here culmination of the service and poor customer attitude started - our waiter called for a ‘food manager’. The ‘food manager’ lady was trying to understand our issue and refused to accept cancellation of the main course insisting that we have to pay it - till this moment I believed that customer has the right to cancel the order and this common rule, seems, not applicable to this place. After some emotional reactions from the ‘food manager’ she agreed with our request giving a very strange comment on ‘calling to police’. How do you like such customer service - threatening a customer? :))) Ah, yes, ‘food manager’ said that she doesn’t speak English... Finally an administrator of the restaurant appeared so we could politely speak in English, understand each other, explain the chronic issues with the service quality in this place, pay our first order (1’590 ARS) and leave this place. I should admit that administrator knows well her job and understand the business she works in - servicing customers and being polite. While unfortunately cannot say the same about the some people in the servicing crew of the restaurant. If you want to stay in this highly competitive restaurant business - learn quickly, be agile, respect your customers and prosper. I see here in TripAdvisor that the last certificate of excellence was issued for this place in 2013/14. Today is almost 2020 and ‘Tia Elvira’ still didn’t learn well the principles. Wishing the best to them and would not recommend to anyone in the season of 2019/20.

We tried for first time centollo in Ushuaia in this place and it was very nice! The fish dishes were cooked or served with several kinds of sauce, all of them looked very appettitizer
