“A la fin du Mundo la fin de la cocina”
Reviewed March 4, 2014 via mobile

Awful kitchen and bad service. Nothing more to add a part from the ton of dust everywhere. Really a bad experience, try the mix of seafood to understand what I'm talking about. I would ask TripAdvisor to add the zero - ball option if it wasn't for the wine, saurus chardonnay is good.

“Avoid!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We ended up here giving the positive reviews, but this is really far from being a restaurant. It is more like a coffee place, where to have a sandwich or a salad. The very few hot dishes are written on a blackboard and are actually not available!!
Service does not exist. We had to ask for a table, had to ask for the menù and had to ask to order!!
Tables have no tablecloth..
The only nice things were a Cinzano poster and the Fernet Branca magnum at the bar. In my opinion just close it down.

We were directed from the Tourist office for coffee. It was great. Quirky looking but great food. We returned the next day and had a starter there and went on for Dinner. A great find

“Huge steaks, meringue penguins eaten aplenty”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Travelled across the South Pacific and round Cape Horn, 6,500 miles of open sea, on a Tall Ship. This cafe was recommended by the pilot bringing us up the beagle channel. It is a great place to chill morning, afternoon and evening.

We had coffee early morning with a signature penguin meringue (so much fun watching grown adults devour them in all manners). Plenty of other pastries etc on offer though! Revisted for lunch, had tagliatelle bolognese, another penguin and a delightful twist on tiramasu, with a red berry topping.

Next day, we had evening meal there with local Cape Horn beer (I liked the blond brew). 11 of us turned up without warning, were seated without fuss and we had various meals from the wide menu on offer. I had steak, called baby bife , which was simply huge (and I mean HUGE!). I ate my fill and had to ask three others to finish it off! More meringue penguins were devoured and many photos taken for our albums.

Meals and wine/beer cost us about £20 a head, but there was no hurry to move us on. Great value.

The staff are really friendly and wanted to speak English, though we did try Spanish to various laughs from all in hearing range.

Would highly recommend this restaurant without hestitation. Thank you to all there that made our visit so memorable. We were nervous about being in Argentina and the staff here really looked after us. Sorry about the meringue penguins, but it was much fun!
