Having stayed in the sister hostel America del Sur-Buenos Aires my travel-mates and myself were looking forward to staying here. We could have walked to the hostel from the bus stop but when we arrived (close to 1am) we chose a taxi and it was around 30 pesos. Note that we did have to wait about 10 min for a taxi to show, so if you arrive late be prepared for that since the hostel doesn't offer the free pickup anymore. From the moment we arrived the staff was there to help with anything we needed. We stayed in room Rio with a solo traveler there already. The room was spacious for 4 people and bathroom was separate from the shower, which made it nice. Breakfast is normal in the Argentinean style; breads, cereal, coffee and toast, also offering hot milk and tang if you wished. They had happy hour offering specials on beers and wine at cheaper prices. The eating area was spacious and allowed for plenty of room for the travelers to either eat solo or mix together. The kitchen I would say was its only "problem." Rather small and not very equipped but in the end we made due. Truly not a big deal, just had to wait your turn. Made it fun to meet other people though, bumping into each other and laughing and sharing. So like I said, a no biggie. When it came to tours and excursions the staff was eager to help and even set everything up for you, with your busses picking you up and dropping you off at the hostel. They had music playing all day and the staff was so youthful and engaging, definitely not shy. The view of the town, lake and mountains from the hostel also added to our stay. Nights were fun and everyone seemed to stay in and cook, which made for meeting people really easy, especially if you are a solo traveler. Don't be intimidated. If you were/are in need of somewhere to hang they have a sitting area upstairs that has plenty of plugs and room to sit, though it is open so you can hear the music and the voices of those hanging downstairs so if it's quiet you need then you might want to hang in your room. Wifi was really good and they have 2 computers if you don't have your own. Really enjoyed my stay (pretty sure my fellow travel-mates feel the same) and I would totally come back.

Its like a 5 stars hotel with hostel price. Very clean, rooms are a bit small but views are just beautiful. The Hangout room it is very comfy and warm. I didn't like the room's door, keys are kind of difficult.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff were great and friendly. The kitchen was a bit small but more than adequate. Breakfast was good with different breads and cereals. Rooms were cleaned and beds made daily. Separate sink, toilet and shower which is useful in a shared dorm. Really comfy lounge area and nice for socialising. Wifi was okay but could have been better. Great panoramic views of the lake and good laundry service - paid 40peso and got it back same day.

Everything was great!! The staff is amazing!! I really recommended it!! The location is quite good like 10 minutes walking to the main street, but the view from the hostel is amazing! Also if you coming here try to get your own padlock...because the don't have any here to rent.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Good hostel, loved the pick up from the bus terminal at 01.00 for free and our room was more like a hotel than a hostel.
STAFF: German was awesome, he made us feel really welcomed and was really friendly. Whilst the other female member of staff was nice too, she was very pushy when my boyfriend asked for a laundrette nearby and was very keen to make us use their service which was an awful lot more money.
DORMS: We stayed in a private room at first which was lovely and then we moved to a 4 bed dorm which was also nice but very warm at night.
BREAKFAST: Basic breakfast of cereals/bread etc
FACILITIES: Close enough to the centre, lovely lounging about area and great views. However, I would reccomend not to participate in the "all you can eat asado" which cost 120 Argentine Pesos each as it definately is NOT all you can eat and is more expensive than the lovely restaurant which is practically next door. We paid for two people and barely had any meat and neither of us had a piece of Patagonian lamb at all, despite being promised lots of it.
INTERNET: Good for wi-fi but their computers are just awful and they take so long to respond.
OTHER: Someone else has mentioned in their review that items and clothing of theirs mysteriously went missing when at this hostel. Although I cant prove whether it was stolen or not, a brand new t-shirt of mine was never seen again after staying here.
