I stayed at this hotel for two nights as part of a tour of south America. The hotel was a 40 minute drive from the airport and situated at the edge of the small town. The hotel was made up of a number of bungalows. Reception and a restaurant was in the first bungalow, then there were a number of residential bungalows and the spa and breakfast bungalow were situated towards the back of the property. Golf carts were available to transfer people around the property. My bungalow had a lounge and dining room and several bedrooms. The room was an average size with double beds. The bathroom was clean, large and had lovely bath products. I ate at the restaurant one night and the meal and service were excellent. It was a short walk to the town and nearby was a lovely boardwalk around the lake. I would stay here again.

Lovely room, beautiful grounds, good food. One small irritation, voiced by other guests, was the failure to replenish the complimentary mineral water after the first night. Otherwise, definitely recommended as probably the best place to stay in Calafate.

El Calafate was the third leg in a very busy trip. When we arrived at Los Sauces we were so happy to see a place that we could relax for a few hours before beginning busy activities again. It was the nicest hotel of our trip. The room was beautiful and the bathroom had a tub that provided a great place to relax. Although not located directly "in town" we walked no more than 12-15 minutes to get anywhere we wanted to go. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful. We used the bikes on premise to take a ride around the lake and get to know the town a bit better. The hotel staff were very nice and went out of their way to try and accommodate us. They even let us have a late check out so we could shower after our activities before our long trek back to New York.

This is a very high quality hotel with lovely gardens and great facilities The room we had was enormous and very stylishly decorated. Very good restaurant although pricey - not far off London prices! The location was good as it was on the edge of town and a simple walk to the shops and restaurants, Slightly disappointingly was the lack of a view of the lake which was very close but we couldn't see it. This was probably the nicest hotel we stayed out on our trip and it was't cheap. If you want somewhere to relax and chill then this hotel would be great. If you are going to be out on tours all day then it may be a bit of a luxury and there were many others slightly cheaper hotels in town.

Room tip: Rooms furthest from reception were newer with nice views over the gardens.

The hotel rooms are located in two buildings and are a walk separated from the main dining room and reception area. Breakfast is located in another building close to the hotel rooms. The building housing the rooms are set up like a cabin with fireplaces leading to the individual rooms. The rooms themselves are large and spacious. The meals either in the breakfast area or in the restaurant were very good and filling. The main part of town is a walk of several blocks and looks a lot like many small mountain towns with many souvenir stores and restaurants on main street.
