Beautiful place.
10' walk from Calafate "downtown".
Very nice rooms (and bathrooms). Breakfast ok, nice view.
The stuff could be a little more friendly, but they were very professional anyway.
I definitely recommend this place.

Be ready to get cold in el Calafate, but inside the Hostel all is warm, at the rooms even the wood floor gets warm!
The place is a bit far from downtown, with a walking distance of 20-30 mins, something to take in mind with low temperatures! but the walk is worth at sunset!
The rooms are comfortable, the beds a bit small. The bathroom has few amenities so take everything you need with you! Buying stuff at the city is overpriced!
I would come back.. the place is quite and the breakfast is ok.

Decent enough hostel, clean, helpful staff & good breakfast, but a little out of the town centre being it’s only let down. A plus point is it's only 100 yards away from the best Steak house in El Calafate.

Came in during high season with a group.

Hotel seemed overbooked and some of us had to be relocated elsewhere (which i dont understand since the booking is made at least a month ahead).

Lack of communication between staff. One person left laundry and no one knew what had happened to it. One staff member at reception just kept ignoring us. Cleaning team was more helpful than reception!

The wooden stairs give a beautiful feel to the hotel, but they are slippery, so be careful.
They seem to experience trouble with water pressure. Was soaked 3 Times by a sudden rush of water when i opened the sink water... Wanted to wash my hands around 4 am, and had no water at all... Finally started to pour 10 minutes later when i was in bed!
Internet wi-fi is provided, but you have to be close to the lobby. Some Rooms didnt get wi-fi. A computer is available, but very slow
Some other group stayed up until past midnight in reception. We could hear them in the room on the upper floor
Finally, Rooms were too hot. I understand that it's not supposed to be so hot in el calafate, but even with the window opened, had to wear close to nothing to be able to sleep.
If i were you, i wouldnt take a chance and would book elsewhere

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and the place was located a fair bit away from the main strip which wasnt clear from their website. it was fine - no realy objections but it was lacking any sort of charm or personality. breakfast was ok - not great. service was impersonal.

We were travelling all over southamerica and we found patagonia as an amazing place!! The views are beyond imagination. We are a family travelling together every year in to a diferent continent for 3 months and this Hostera was a great place!! You will feel like home!! The staff are always trying to help you, the rooms are clean and the beds are confortable, especially after a full day of excursions, for Us was a safe place and We enjoy the restaurant!! Good food and good prices!! Keep on mind that this one is a 3star Hotel..... If you want more there are some 5stars hotel....but no close to town!.....this one is just 5minutes walk.

We stay 5 nights because we need to rest to be ready to continue!...I will remcomend this lovely place!..

Joshua.

Stay was arranged thru a travel agent - special needs and arrangementpre made were not communicated to staff w.r.t. time and type of meals required. When discussd with management he agreed to provide services as contracted for BUT the information was not transmitted to staff who were rude and even shouted at us when we arrived for breakfast at the agreed time in ordertomake a tour on schedule - 15 minutes earlier than the usual starting time. The hotel food was not even passable - one fish dinner we (a party of 6) could not even eat - ane the accommodations minimal. On the second night of the staythe hotel guest included a large tur group who were loud and disurbing in the lobbies and hallways very late into the night - the hotel staff would do nothing to rectify the situation. All together the overall atmosphere in El alafate is not a welcoming one to tourist - not just in this hotel but in shops and restaurants in general - a very BIG contrast to other towns for exampe El Chalten. Guess they know they have the corner marketed and do not have to provide good service to travelers who must pass thru to see the wonders of nature special to the area - probably a once i the llife time visit for most of the travellers.
