I spent 3 nights in the hostel part of what is a boutique hotel with a mini hostel of 2 small dorms with their own self contained kitchen and bathrooms at the back of the hotel. The whole place is clean, super comfy, with even a grand piano in the dining area. The communal areas of the hotel are very elegant and cosy, very welcoming, as are the staff who are really helpful. There are huge lockers in the hostel area and the breakfast includes very yummy cake. It is very near the bus station but also close to town. Totally recommended.

Room Tip: I stayed in the dorm bit, with the kitchen. If you are staying in the bedrooms, but want to use a k...

Female , traveled solo, stayed for 4 nights in January 2014, felt myself safe and very comfortable like at home, not to mention real professionalism in the hotel management of the family who runs business.
This is the place where you feel welcomed like family. Ramiro and his wonderful parents are SO helpful and friendly. They are willing to give advice on any subject you ask them about: trips, excursions, local food and wines, you name it. Ramiro in particular will help with any issues you might have, including calls to travel agents, airlines, negotiating the best price for your desired excursion with local agencies, finding out information on other places besides El Calafate that you will further visit during your trip.
Upon arrival, they went out of their way to change my room for a better one without any extra charges. I am also very grateful for the exceptional help I received when I was sick and didn't feel well. I was offered extra assistance and hot drinks 24/7.
I personally found this hostel to be my favorite of the whole trip. It is hard even to call it a hostel as it is a professionally run hotel with all the hotel amenities and excellent service. The wifi was outstanding! So beautifully decorates public areas.
I travel a lot and have been to different hotels in different countries: that is how it should be everywhere if you want to attract clients!
Dear Ramiro and Cecilia, Thank you again, I am on the road and wish to get a similar type of service....... Olga

Had a great time here. Rooms are clean and have a great bathroom. Staff was very nice and helped us plan our excursions. The main hall where you can hang out has a warm ambiance and is very spacious. Breakfast was fine aswell. Would recommend anyone going here if youre planning to go to el calafate. And a special recommendation goes out to the horse riding tour we did to Lago Roca (make a reservation at the reception).

My husband and I were welcomed by an amiable young man, Ramiro, and his family, who ran the hostel. They were so friendly and helpful, that we soon found this hostel to be our favorite of the whole trip. Ramiro offered us tea and coffee, and then showed us to our room, which was comfortable and clean. We had a view of the backyard, filled with lupine and a grassy area. The bed was soft and warm. The bathroom was outdated but functional. We spent two nights here, and returned here on our last day in Calafate. The breakfast was simple but tasty and high-quality, including homemade breads and cakes.

Clean rooms, bit small but absolutely ok, very close from the center (5 min to walk), very friendly staff. They organised all the trips for us and gave us great advises what to do. There's a big comfy living room where you can read, whatch tv or just hanging out. Can realy recommend

This isn't a high-end hotel by any means, but the rooms are clean, each with a private bathroom, and the service was wonderful. We stayed before and after our Torres del Paine trip, and they outdid themselves in a few ways: they helped us store the bag we didn't need on the trek, they lent us a power converter for our hike, and when they saw we had booked a triple room for just two of us (it was the last available) they only charged us the double room fee. Conveniently located close to the town as well as the bus station.

The staff make this hotel great. They are very welcoming and willing to give advice on trips and restaurants. The location is great, 5 minute walk into town, everywhere is clean and warm, we ate in the restaurant which was good.
We are very grateful for the exceptional help we received from the owners when we needed to reschedule our trip due to a family emergency.
