Hostel well located in El Calafate.
We stayed 2 nights in a double room with shared bathroom.
Main plus: good breakfast, serious staff and well managed by the owner (who speaks french), clean
Possibility to have dinner there (the owner cooks) and to have some lunchbox too.
A refurbishment of the bathrooms would make this place perfect.

We had a lovely stay at las cabanitas thanks to Gerardo and his partner. They are awesome cooks! One minute he is fixing the heater and another he is making risotto. We were lucky because we got to stay in a 4 person cabin with just the two of us. The rooms are nice and warm and the showers are warm as well. That's all you need, right? Gerardo helps with planning your stay and excursions so you get the best out of your trip. We loved his hospitality and service. Everything he says and does is straight forward, honoust and in your best interest. Don't hesitate and go to Las Cabanitas!

We stayed for four nights in one of the cabins, the cabins are really cute, with plenty of room for the two of us.
The breakfast was one of the best weve had whilst staying in hostels, it was more like a hotel breakfast.
I would really recommend anyone staying here.

Do not hesitate and book las Cabanitas! The owner, Gerardo, really makes the difference! He is super relaxed, arrange everything for you if you want and makes sure you feel at home at his place. The rooms are spotless clean, cozy and the location is perfect. There is no noise at night and breakfast is good. Unfortunately I didnt have the oppurtunity to eat at his place, but from what I saw you should really consider that too! I strongly recommend to stay here!

Five of us stayed 3 nights at Las Cabanitas and had a great time. Rooms were clean, wifi worked (close to the office only), breakfast is included, and dinner is available by request. We requested trout one night and were not disappointed. Met other travellers from UK and France. Geraldo speaks English and French as well as his native spanish, and was a great, energetic host. The side yard makes a lovely beer garden amongst the lavender and rosemary. There is a sign post in the side yard, which was missing any distances to Australia, so we added the Sydney sign, so now Geraldo will no doubt be swamped by more Aussies.
