Having read reviews, the cabin did not disappoint! After getting the heating going, it was a lovely place to stay and so much fun. The breakfast was simple but fine, and we can also recommend the lunch box and dinners. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful when needed. It was cleaned daily, which was a nice surprise. The only downside was the shower, which took ages to get going and wasn't very powerful. Don't go expecting a plush ski chalet, you get what you pay for. Made El Calafate a very homely place for a few days!

Room Tip: I emailed in a reservation rather than go through a booking site, to ensure we got a cabin and not j...

We were in Las Cabanitas for 5 days. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hostel is located near the bus station in the city center. Gerardo and his father Edoardo are always available to satisfy every desire.
Every evening Gerardo proposes a specialty at very affordable prices with excellent results. Must try the trout with herbs!
Gerardo is also a lover of adventure and can advise you on all excursions.

Las Cabanitas is the best place where to stay in El Calafate and has remained in our hearts

We spent 5 days in Las Cabanitas and it was like staying at home.
Gerardo and his family were welcoming from the start and made us feel at home.
The hostel is clean and well located and has a beautiful garden full of lavender.
We also had dinner two times piacare of the hostel and Gerard found an excellent cook.
Really recommend it to all Las Cabanitas

Great value and charm. Love Gerardo and his dad, both kind and very helpful! Charming little A-frames. My only friendly suggestion is to raise the price a dollar, and include a hard boiled egg and a banana or other piece of fruit for breakfast, to prepare for a long day out.

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights before heading over to TdP in Chile and really loved the place. The owner Gerardo and his family are so friendly, welcoming and helpful it was a very comfortable and relaxing place to rest. Great breakfast and WiFi included and they happily stored our excess luggage while we were in TdP....we were happy to return and spend another two nights here afterward. For us the location was great, an easy walk from the bus station and very quiet, yet still a nice/easy walk down to town. Would recommend to any friends or family heading this way....

The Cabanitas are really cute! We stayed there twice: once in one of the cute little cabanas, second time in a room.

The facilities are clean, heated, internet is available in the main buildng (not in the cabanas). You get free tea all day long. The owner is really adorable and helps you organize trip etc. He is really passionate about beautiful Patagonia.

And very important: eat in!! Every night a different dish is on the menu - and every time it was delicious. And much cheaper than in a restaurant. Don't miss it!!

This is a great little spot! The owner Geraldo is fantastic, he really went above and beyond to help us organize outings and adventures. This is not a 5 star hotel but it is a fantastic value and perfectly comfortable. The space is sweetly decorated and the garden is a welcome oasis. We found it quiet and cozy and would go back in a heartbeat. It’s located just a couple blocks from the bus station and a very short walk to all the shops and restaurants. There are plenty of hotel options in Calafate but most of them are VERY FAR from town and since there are few taxis you will be walking a long way to get anywhere. Also - have Geraldo cook you a meal - you won’t be sorry - its also one of the tastiest deals in town!

Room Tip: The cabanitas are too cute! But we also stayed in the front room next to the road and the common are...
