stayed several nights here coming from W trek. Owner Geraldo is very helpful and a good cook. Try his dinner plates! Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. It gets quite hot inside with the heating on. Location is great, a few blocks from main street. All n all good value for your money. Making the reservations and extending my stay worked flawless

We stayed for about 10 days. Perfect place to stay and relax. The place is quite basic and we loved the relaxed atmosphere. Food with a local touch is recommendable. Very supportive host who help us a lot to solve a few travel issues. We can highly recommend Las Cabanitas and the team. Thanks for the nice time.

We stayed 4 night in Las Cabanitas. The location in excellent, 5 minutes from bus terminal. Geraldo, the host, gave us very useful information and advice for activities in Panagonia. He and his father are very friendly. They always are ready to help you. The rooms are very comfortable and warm. We forgot to be in winter Bathroom is clean. The breakfast is included and you can use kitchen to prepare your dinner. Thanks to their kindness, we spent very good time.

We stayed in Las Cabanitas, in cabanitas and not in rooms in the main building, for 3 nights.
The cabanitas are very small, but clean. It is challenging to climb upstairs to get into bad, but even more challenging to use a bathroom at night. The bathrooms were clean and there was a plenty of hot water, but it is very small. Every time you take a shower it will fulfill with water so you need to work extra time trying to grab all the water back.
The place itself is very beautiful, well maintained. The location is great, it's 5 minutes walking to the central street and to the central bus station.
Breakfast was quite good, you will not stay hungry. WiFi only works in the reception/restaurant area. There is a small kitchen at the backyard, it looks like a camp kitchen rather than hostel/home place. There is no equipment for cooking, but if you ask Gerardo, he will provide you with some staff to make your own dinner.
They have a restaraunt in place and they cook dinner every night. We didn't try it, but it smelled good.
The host, Gerardo, and his wife are very friendly, and they give you a lot of advises where to go and what to see.

Las Cabanitas was our base camp for the excursions and trekkings on the Perito Moreno glacier, El Chalten/Fitz Roy and even on the Chilenian side for Puerto Natales/Torres del Paine. Thanks to this "central base camp" in El Calafate we were able to optimise a lot our baggage and trekking load. Every time we returned to Las Cabanitas the owner (Gerardo) and each of the employees were very kind, helpful and friendly. We recommend this lovely and calm place for trekker's recuperation and recreation before starting a new adventure somewhere in a trekking corner of Patagonia. Of great help was also the washing machine which helps minimising the weight and amount of trekking clothes.

Room Tip: The cabanitas are very cozy.

The location is good, close to the centre. The very small cabanitas are ok if you don't mind climbing a steep ladder to go to bed in the "loft". Breakfast was quite good. WiFi only works in the reception/restaurant area. This place can be noisy at times. Quite expensive for what you get, so no real value for money there. Bathrooms are terrible: tiny, dirty, mouldy. You have a shower above the toilet which is very messy! The host, Gerardo, tries hard and is friendly, but he should re-invest some money to greatly improve the bathrooms.
