Overall, Kelta is a decent place to stay but there are several negatives. The staff is very friendly however they do not speak very good English, which was difficult at times especially when I had questions regarding my excursions. The food at the hotel is not very good. I would recommend going out to eat. One night I had dinner there and I think the server, who was very young, was also the cook. I ordered ravioli and he went back in the kitchen and I heard a microwave beep. Their free breakfasts consist of stale toast, jams, coffee, cold eggs, and slices of ham and cheese. Lastly, the strangest thing I experienced there was that they asked you to leave your keys at the front desk before leaving. I was constantly worried about leaving my possessions in my room but everything was fine, I just thought it was a strange policy. Aside from those negatives, I had an okay stay. The view was beautiful since it's up on a hill and it's not too far away from the main street.

A simple hotel with very friendly staff and very good value. It's located around 10 minutes walking uphill from the centre and lakeside rooms have a beautiful view over the town and the lake. Rooms and sanitaries were clean and functional.

The hotel is managed by a young couple who was really friendly and helpful. On our first day we arrived around 10pm, and they still managed to organise an excursion to the Perito Moreno glacier for the next day, even though offices were already closed at that time. And we still got dinner after arrival: no big choice of meals, yet certainly very much appreciated after a long day travelling.

Rooms are pleasant, but the hallways smell like smoke because guests are permitted to smoke on the landings. Staff is friendly, but breakfast is stale pastries and cold eggs.

We had a very warm and welcome stay at The Kelta. The hotel is well heated and conveniently located. Tha Manager and his wife were very friendly and gave us a lot of inofrmation about El Calafate and its history, including tips on how to enjoy Matte.

I would definitley return to this hostelier.

I was a bit dubious of what Hosteria Kelta would be like as the pictures on the internet do not do it justice. This place is absolutely fantastic. It's situated about 2 streets back from the main street in El Calafate and is in a quiet area. The very pleasant Pablo greeted us on arrival and refused to allow us to carry our bags ourselves. He personally delivered them to our room. There were 3 of us staying so we had a room with 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom. The room was very clean and warm and cosy, like a second home but nicer. The bathroom was clean and quite big and the shower was fantastic. There is no elevator so if you have any difficulty with stairs make sure to request a ground floor room. Breakfast was a continental style buffet with a limited but adequate selection of food. Internet services are free for guests. There are lots of trips to do around the glaciers. I would highly recommend the day trip on a catamaran around the glaciers and also the glacier trekking. Most of these trips advise you to bring a packed lunch and for a very small fee the staff at Hosteria Kelta will make a yummy one up for you. This was by far my favourite place we stayed while in Argentina and also the cheapest. I couldn't find a single fault with it.
