We went here on the recommendation of the hostel and we really enjoyed ourselves. The parilla was very good and the service was above average for Argentina. The salad was disappointing (too much raw white onion), but besides that not too much to complain about.

Patagonian lamb is very nice. The flavour is not as strong as lamb in other parts of the world as the lamb feeds on a local plant that does not flavour the meat strongly. Definitely eat it - it is cooked in a unique way in Patagonia (spatchcocked and fire roasted).

I really do not understand why this restaurant is not in the top 10. Remember that all places in El Calafate are touristy. This place is all about what you see is what you get. Steaks starting at 50 pesos and good saucages for only 10 pesos. Here you find both tourists and locals. Locals won't go to the current #2 Pura Vida. Really Pura Vida is over rated! A bunch of hippy girls serving authentic meat pies. Trust me try Parrilla Mi Viejo!

We went to the restaurant on recommendation from taxi drivers. The venue has a no-nonsense setting. Staff was very attentive. The place offers Argentinian and Patagonian cuisine. Good food, at reasonable prices.

Excellent food. I had grilled salmon and my partner had beef tenderloin kebab which was chargrilled with a lovely smoky flavour. Potato mash accompanying was lovely. Chocolate mousse desert equally delicious. Place was very busy but good service.

We were at great restaurants in Calafate, all of those considered as High Class and many others... they're all great, and you should try all of them! But Mi Viejo was so a memorable experience... great, great, great food! Great family service... there's not a fancy atmosphere, but you will certainly feel yourself inside Calafate's own environment! Wish we could go there more often!
