“At here both nights of our stay”
Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

Our dinner here the first night was delicious, the wine excellent and the service very friendly. We had lamb, fried eggs and steak. We thought the meal wonderful. We were treated to an unadvertised dance show by the mother of one if the waitresses.
The second night, our meal was also as enjoyable as the previous evening. There is not much ambiance, it is quite large, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

“Terrible service and food”
Reviewed January 2, 2014 via mobile

This place was recommended by a local shop assistant and gave us a voucher discount, so we decide to go.
We order "empanadas" as starters and beef as main, the waitress was not helpful at all about the menu, the empanadas took age to be served and their were terrible, a bit cold and tasteless. With the main we waited about 15 min more, after de starter, so we decided to paid and leave.

Place to go in El Calafate if you like steak. The restaurant came highly recommended by a couple of people I know.

“Over-rated!!”
Reviewed December 30, 2013

La Tabilta is overrated - the food was ok but the service was very slow. One of my son's ordered fish which was served with a fly on top - not appetitzing! Also, my wife and I ordered a selection of grilled meats for 2 people which was overcooked.

“Patagonian lamb”
Reviewed December 27, 2013

We went to La Tablita with a hint of trepidation, and not just because everybody in town appears to want to get you a table there. Why would any decent joint need such extensive machinery to garner business?

Yet when we got there we were greeted warmly and given a table within 15 minutes, despite showing up without a reservation in high season.

The feel is touristy and a bit industrial, but the service is good: polite and attentive. The Patagonian lamb I found excellent- crisp on the outside, yet soft and succulent on the inside. The house red (by the glass) was an excellent Malbec blend, which apparently only sells at the restaurant. Shame. The rest of the menu was sadly, forgettable.
