Hotel Tirol Bariloche
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed December 30, 2010

The Tirol has a great location, just a block from the picturesque Civic Center, close to downtown shops and restaurants, and a couple of blocks upslope from the lake. The staff is very friendly and helpful, giving us directions and advice and helping us retrieve a jacket that we left in the room, which we discovered a few days after we checked out (fortunately we were returning to Bariloche and could pick it up).

The small lobby and reception area opens to a large breakfast/ lounge room with a panoramic view of the lake and mountains beyond. The included buffet breakfast was pretty good, with sliced meat & cheese, cereal, and some fresh fruit. There is a computer in the lobby and free wifi throughout the hotel. Limited off-street parking is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

We stayed at the Tirol three nights upon arriving in Bariloche and one more night when we returned from driving the Seven Lakes Route. Our first room, #24, was small and somewhat cramped, but nicely decorated and furnished with comfortable twin beds, two night stands, a table & chair, luggage stand, and a built-in closet which was a bit difficult to access because one of its doors was blocked by the nightstand. The bathroom was small with a single pedestal sink and a tub/shower combo. There was no shelf or counter space. Our second room, #23 next door, had a different configuration but was still somewhat cramped. There was more room in the bed area, but the bathroom was tiny. Both rooms had stunning views of the lake and mountains, the same view only higher as the breakfast room downstairs. To be fair, both rooms were “Standard Lake View” and the deluxe rooms might be larger.

All in all, the Tirol is a good value and comfortable if you don’t mind the somewhat cramped quarters or if you upgrade to a deluxe room.

A very good value hotel with excellent location and very friendly and attentive service. Would be even better if the bread at breakfast was of better quality.

We had a top floor room with lake view. Bed was new firm and large. It was very quiet at night. Breakfast was OK. Staff was friendly and spoke good English and German (with an authenic austrian accent). Only the bathrooms could be cleaner.

A nice family run hotel. A block or so from the centre of town and on a quiet street. Everyone associated with the running of this hotel were friendly, warm and very helpful! The rooms are on the small side and the bathrooms tiny but everything is in very good condition. We had our best sleep in this hotel having taken a rear room with a view. The view that the rear rooms have is well worth a little extra.....to be able to open your curtains in the morning and gaze across the lake to the snow covered peaks of the Andes( certainly makes up for the small rooms) The higher the room at the rear the better the view! The breakfast needs a make over..it is cereal, toast , jam, ham, cheese and tea or coffee. It is OK but needs to be expanded with more variety. Overall we were happy staying at this hotel for 4 nights and would do so again if ever in Bariloche.

Little bir strange name for an hotel in Bariloche, Argentina (however you can easily understand why after speaking with the owner lay) but seem nice for short term staying. By the way, you may really feel that you are in Tirol of Austria in 1980 because of the decor.

I've visited in low season and i had a chance to have a room with lake view. that was best part of the hotel for me.

We stayed here as there weren´t many hotels available in Bariloche. I presume as it´s the end of the ski season. The Hotel is more of a guest hose (along the lines of a 60´s seaside B&B) but in an Alpine style. Some may think the decor is a bit dated but my wife and I felt it suited the mountain environment. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake as promised. Christina, one of the staff (possibly the owner), was really helpful and spoke great English. Her and her partner made us stay for breakfast when we were checking out. Breakfast was great on both days and really helped with the cold, snowy weather. The hotel is in the perfect location by the lake, the civic centre and the shops/restaraunts. My only concern was the price which I felt was a touch high but it probably reflects that Bariloche is an expensive town. I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel.

We stayed at Hotel Tirol it was like a B&B, the hosts were so lovely and understood English well. Breakfast was served in front room overlooking the lake but be warned in winter doesn't get light til 9am!!
Room was small but didn't matter as we were going out daily and you are so close to city centre (very short walk). Snow fields so close also. Mamushka a must for Hot Chocolate.
Nice clean rooms.
