“Great rooms and the best food in bariloche”
Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in los juncos for one night, but we dinned there for 3 nights.
Rooms are beautifully decorated, the heaters well.
Breakfast is great, we had a small one because we left really early, but it was homemade and great, so I imagine the normal one would be even better.
Dinner- they have a small restaurant- make reservation! Food is divine! It is expensive but worth it.

We spent three nights in Bariloche at Los Juncos. The room was quiet and well appointed, the hostess was wonderfully welcoming and helpful, and the meals were perfecto. Virginia got up early to make breakfast so we could catch the catamaran departure schedule. Gaby provided delicious meals. The location is right off the bus line (AR$7 from the center of town at the 20 km marker) and overlooks a quiet bay and a long view of the lake. It's about 7 km from Hotel Llao Llao and the catamaran departure point. The meals were well prepared and served with flair. We enjoyed the first night so much that we dined there all three evenings. Los Juncos is an ideal choice to use as a base for exploring the area of Bariloche.

Room Tip: There are rooms above the main floor and beneath it, basically a three-story structure. We had a ro...

Fantastic lake house on the shore of Nahuel Huapi. Gabi and his mum Virginia were the perfect hosts and made us feel at home straight away. The tasty home cooked evening meals are better than anything offered by local restaurants and are served in the stylish but cosy diningroom/lounge where you can relax and and enjoy a digestive from the honesty bar whilst chatting with fellow guests. Our thanks to Gabi for his enthusiastic recommendations for the area especially our fly fishing trip with the wonderful Gaston - a highlight of our holiday in Argentina. Special thanks to Flavia for all her help prior to our arrival, sorry we didn't meet you but hope you enjoyed your holiday as much as we did ours. We would highly recommend Los juncos for a wonderful stay in the lake district.

Room Tip: Room Aire looks out over the lake and has stunning views at sunrise (if you are getting up early for...

We absolutely loved Los Juncos. My husband and I stayed 4 nights at this wonderful place. Every detail makes you feel right at home. Gaby the owner was amazing- not only was he a great host, but his meals every night were top notch. We even preferred his meals to the #1 restaurant on trip advisor. Perfect place for couples looking to relax.

I would thoroughly recommend this wonderful home from home in Bariloche, Argentina. Virginia and son Gabi provide a lovely warm welcome - and some fantastic home cooked food!

Some distance from Bariloche centre (20 km) this is not necessarily the best place to be if you want to be close to the bars and restaurants - but given Bariloche itself has a feel of somewhat faded 1970's grandeur I would not let this put you off! What it does not have in terms of easy of access it more than makes up in terms of comfort, feel and atmosphere.

We stayed 4 nights in the Alma suite - a lovely room with a unique interior style. Virginia, has a real flair for interior style at makes this and awesome place to stay.

Each night you have the option to eat in and sample the simple but well cooked, Italian inspired menu! Gabi maintains a decent cellar so there are plenty of nice wines to taste. After dinner you and other guests can retire to the lounge for an after dinner drink and a catch up on the days experiences! This is what makes Los Juncos truly a gem!

If you want to eat out ere are plenty of restaurants along the road on the way to Bariloche. Regular buses run from just outside but you are probably best getting a car.

The house is ideally located for exploring the lakes around Bariloche. You really should find time in your itinerary to enjoy Los Juncos.

Room Tip: Stay in Alma if you can

We were highly recommended Los Juncos by our son who had stayed there a couple of years ago. What a beautiful and charming place set in the most stunning scenery. We enjoyed the fabulous food cooked by Gaby who is so charming and humorous. The beautiful Flavia had arranged every detail of our stay so meticulously. Perfect in every way, we were very reluctant departees.

My wife and I spent 4 nights in this lovely and homely posada. Gaby and his great team did a great job to make us feel at home. The view from our room was awesome (room name = Aire)! They were also clean and spacious considering how old but well kept the building is.

The meals were inventive, full of taste and very well presented! Definite value for money!

The garden was lovely aswell and we enjoyed a few "quiet ones" in the afternoons.

Although 20km outside Bariloche we would again have chosen to stay out of town as it is very busy and commercial. There is a regular and cheap bus that runs almost 24/7 and gaby has a card per room. There is a supermarket 50m from Los Juncos where you can "top up" your card and a delighteful rotisserie with delicious empanadas!

Make sure you speak to Gaby about activities aswell. Santiago for kayaking was perfect and white water rafting with "Rafting Advevture" with crazy Martin & Seba was awesome too!

Would highly recommend staying and we would def chose to stay there again whenever we are back in bariloche!

Room Tip: The suite has a better bathroom (only slightly more expensive) but the best view is the one from Air...
