We just got back from a trip to B.A. and Bariloche. And I have to say we found this hotel a nice surprise. The manager was very nice and greeted us upon arrival. The staff was also very helpful. The meals were good and the view, right on the water, cannot be beat. They have a very nice location, right on the edge of town within walking distance everywhere and right on the water as I mentioned earlier.

I realize Hotel Edelweiss got great reviews but until you are in Bariloche you do not realize that that hotel really provides no view as they are much farther up the hill. And upon walking by it I did not realize it as any nicer than any other hotel in town.

Also, we did consider the Llao, Llao hotel but ruled that out - thank goodness. Althought that hotel is magnificent and I recommend a visit if you are in the neighborhoood - It is around 18 miles from town, so you would have to drive/taxi there or take a shuttle and I would think it is even futher from skiing.

We just returned from our honeymoon in Bariloche. We chose to spend a couple days in Cacique as it was close to town, but at the same time not directly in town. The hotel was very comfortable and has 2 bars, a game room, restaurant and 1 free internet terminal. They must be popular as it looks like they are adding on an additional wing.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite, Room 801, which was a romantic room directly under the roof overlooking the lake. The room was accessed by taking the elevator up to the 7th floor and then walking up a private staircase. The first night we stayed there, there was a thunder storm, so we heard and felt a lot of it being under the roof and my husband is a light sleeper. The second night was much better. The shower is a bit small – not made for anyone over 5 ft 6 inches. You had to crouch down so as not to hit the roof and turning had to be done very carefully.

The room rate included a free breakfast and dinner and it was abundant and very good. Breakfast was a huge buffet. Dinner gave you a menu with a few options. There was a salad buffet as well that was quite filling. The restaurant staff were extremely friendly, very accomodating and somewhat entertaining. Our only problem was that all the menu options were cream based – leaving little choice for the lactose intolerant.

All in all, we would totally stay there again. It was an amazing value for the price with really friendly staff.

We were delighted with the hotel service. Very helpful, polite and efficient. The rooms were very confortable and beautifully decorated. Food was excellent!!! The only problem was it was extremely hot inside the rooms. No air conditioning. The hotel is prepared for cold climate but not for hot days. Few days of this climate I was told, but it was exactly when we arrived and it was really hot. Other than that, it was an excellent experience, highly reccomended.
