Aldebaran Hotel & Spa

My husband and I stayed 6 nights at this hotel. It was the BEST vacation we have ever had! we chose the hotel based on the recommendations at Tripadvisor and all that have been written about this hotel is so true! the hotel is beatifully designed, quiet and romantic. Only 10 rooms and feels like home. The room (no. 4) was very large, simply but stylishly designed, with lake view that makes you just want to stay there all day, and watch the water. And the service --- excellent!!! especially Sophi who always happy to give good recommendation about rest, trips, things to do. We would highly highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the aldebaran last year in September. I just can say that it was the perfect hotel choice to relax and have a romantic time. The hotel is located by the lake. Our room had a fantastic view of it. The staff was very helpful and the food delicious. We also enjoyed the spa facilities. Since the hotel is 20 minutes from the city we rented a car to explore bariloche. We also had nice walks around the area.
We just loved the place :)

I agree with all the superlatives in other reviews. This place really delivered for us. Small is definitely beautiful here. All the staff were exceptionally helpful and considerate. We felt like guests at a houseparty. In fact the hotel feels more like an extended home, with very comfortable styling and a welcome lack of ostentation. We loved the food which was inventive and beautifully served. The peninsular is definitely the place to stay if you enjoy peace and quiet as the area along the lake shore from Bariloche is very developed and the one road is busy. But you will need a car when staying at Aldebaran. Cecilia was very helpful with our car hire booking before we arrived and gave us great suggestions for trips around the area during our stay, all of which we really appreciated. Take a stiff climb on a forest path for 45 mins (or take chair lift) up Cerro Campanario, which can be seen from Aldebaran across the lake, for breathtaking 360degree views and a welcome drink in the little cafe. We saw 2 condors soaring above the Llao Llao peninsular. Magical!!

If you are looking for a wonderful, quiet , and beautiful hotel. this is it. The staff are very discrete, the food is terrific and the setting is just fantastic.
If we return to Bariloche, we'll be back.

We came here for our honeymoon after reading the reviews on tripadvisor..we were a little sceptically and somewhat torn between the Llao Llao hotel and this one..and we were so glad we picked this one...
from the minute we booked this place to the minute we left...everything was perfect.
So let me break this review down:
Booking Process:
I booked this place for the heavy xmas season..was a little tough due to availability since this is a small property with 10 rooms...received prompt replies and perfect seamless booking process.
I was having a hard time getting rental car and the staff went out of their way to get me a car...organized perfectly..they came to pick me up at the airport with the car.

The property
The property itself is in a top notch location...it is off the beaten path so i do recommend renting a car..if not...restaurants and stuff will come pick you up..beautiful location on the lake facing the beautiful mountains...
very rustic...home type feeling...with luxury...

The rooms
the rooms are generously sized..we had the Cerro Lopez room which was beautiful with a balcony and recliners and days beds...a good stereo system....and the only hotel on my trip where wifi was available everywhere in the hotel..and good bandwidth too.
The rooms were very luxurious

The Staff
The staff is what makes the hotel stand out..everyone made us feel at home...from the minute we walked in to the moment we left...everyone knew us on a first name basis...and let me tell...we are English speakers with 0 Spanish...and this place was quite a relief since everyone spoke good English..

Summary...
all in all..this is a great property....i would go back in a heart beat...after we left here we went and stayed at the four seasons in Buenos Aires and were still missing Aldebaran

This hotel is a MUST!

Located overlooking the shores of Nahuel Huapi Lake, about 20 minutes from the centre of town. Charming boutique hotel, lovely bedrooms with private balconies, a spa and a small outdoor/indoor pool. Had a delicious gourmet dinner in the restaurant one evening, as welll as lunch one day. Breakfast is a small but excellent buffet and one can order eggs. The staff is superb. the only negative is that it is quite far out of town but the hotel more than makes up for it in all other aspects.

My wife and I stayed at the Aldebaran while vacationing in the Bariloche area and had a wonderful experience. It's situated about 20 minutes by car outside of town -- a major plus if you're looking to avoid crowds -- and about 5 minutes down a dirt road with a series of lefts and rights. If you're renting a car, you want to arrive during daylight hours as it would be easy to get lost at night before you become familiar with the area. The hotel sits lakeside and our room, number 2, had a balcony with a view above the tree line with the lake and mountains in the foreground. The room was very large with a huge bed, day bed and comfy chair all oriented toward the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the lake. The furnishings and color scheme of the room match the outdoor tones so the indoor/outdoor separation starts to mely away. We found ourselves sitting for extended periods simply staring out the window and watching the interplay of sun, clouds, lake and mountains.
The public areas also benefit from some great design choices. There are many cozy nooks and crannies in which to settle with a good book or a glass of wine, all with terrific views.
Inns like this, however, are always about the service and here is where Aldebaran truly excelled. Sofia, Cecilia, Lorena and everyone else made us feel at home immediately and offered us many suggestions on day-trips, activities, etc. and even helped us with a flat tire on the last day of our stay. As our stay progressed we got to know each of them and were truly sad to say goodbye.
The Aldebaran would be the perfect choice for those looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful location and service with a personal touch.
