“Nice hotel and great location”
Reviewed November 7, 2010

This hotel is a perfect place to tour Bariloche. This has an internet however the internet crashed multiple times. The front desk was very helpful & friendly. On the day shift the front desk is a man from England. On evenings they speak English as well. It is owned by a family and family members do work in the hotel. The young girl that books tours is really nice and tries to go out of her way to find something you would like to do. The rooms are clean. The place is safe. I was able to have a view in distance of mountains. The rooms are warm about 75 F while it was 48-50 F outside. Double pane windows. They have cable TV and in room safe and hairdryer. Closet is good size. The bathroom is small but clean and water pressure fine. The breakfast is good by Argentina standards. Yogurt in a pitcher, fruit mixed, good coffee, cold cereal. bread, jam and butter. The very expensive hotels are beautiful but way out of town and you would need a car. It is close to the town square. About a 4-5 minute walk. Elevator is small. I took the stairs except when I checked in and out. Very convenient and fair price about $70 USA for single. I would stay agian.

What is good:
- Location (two blocks from the civic center and from the bus stop to C. Catedral)
- There is room Wi-Fi
- Lobby, restaurant and some floors seemed to be refurbished recently.

What is bad:
- The walls and the doors are VERY thin
- Rooms are very small.
- The breakfast was pretty much the same every day. Very few options to choose.
- It seems that they reduced the temperature of the heating in the middle of the night whivh bothered us a little bit.
- Bathroom could be better.

The best thing about this Hotel is it's location right in the centre of town , a block away from the main streets. Otherwise it is pretty standard but comfortable , used mainly by Argentinians , which suggests it is better value than most hotels - we were the only foreigners there during our stay. Only complaint was the breakfasts which were very poor.

This budget hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very basic (could have used a make-over), but clean. Breakfast was sufficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful. verygood hotel .

The best thing about this hotel is the location in the centre of Bariloche. Good if you want to explore the city centre or pick up any tours that start there. If you want a more romantic and scenic location then I recommend a stay outside the city along the lake.
The worst aspect for us was the WIFI; there was none in the room and in the lobby it was very, very slow; there seemed to be a problem as even the wired computer in the lobby was slow but the staff did not seem to care when we told them; their computers seemed fast and they continued to spend their time on what appeared to be Facebook; rather irritating when we and other guests were unable to do the onward travel reservations we wanted to.
We stayed 3 nights and some of the staff were helpful but others less so.
Our room was spacious apart from the bathroom which was tiny.
Overall a mixed experience but good value

I stayed in Hotel Carlos V Patagonia for one night from December 24th to 25th, 2009 and got room number 203.

The hotel has: free parking for only two or three small cars, hair dryer, elevator (a really small one), free wi fi internet access only in the lobby (not in the rooms), one computer in the lobby with free internet access, heating system.

The hotel doesn't have: air conditioning (it was not a problem for me but I'm not sure if in a really summer day or night I wouldn't miss it), wi-fi internet in the room, minibar in the room.

Location: good. Two blocks away from the main street, in a uphill street.

Price: Ar$ 278 per night for a double room (around US$ 70 at time of booking – all taxes and fees included in this price).

I got room number 203. In a city where the average hotels cost around US$ 100, the Hotel Carlos V Patagonia is a “just ok” hotel. The room is small. Bed was comfortable. The bathroom is really tiny. The sink is almost above the toilet. The breakfast is truly poor. The checkout time is at 10:00 AM, which is very unconvenient. All the staff were very helpful (even in Christmas night and with lots of people asking lots of things at the same time).

I would stay here again only if I were in a tight budget and couldn't find a different option for the same price.

This Hotel is close to all facilities in Bariloche. It is Clean has good Beds. The laundy service is very good, and not very expensive. A big disappointment: there is no WIFI available on the rooms. There is in the lobby downstairs (even with a computer for common use of the guests) but when we were there it was extremely SLOW! The staff is friendly. Breakfast is really good.
