Probably my favorite meat experience in Argentina. Great cuts of beef and perfectly grilled by the "asador". Good selection of wines, including a good house wine. Nice atmosphere in old house on a hill with a view of part of the town. Usually crowded, but atmospheric. Prices are reasonable. The service is friendly and efficient. I had the lomo, similar to fillet mignon, both nights I was there. The salads are good. Recommend as at least one of your diners in Bariloche.

Nothing special wouldn't bother going here as there are better options all over the city - service was a bright spot

Easily the best meal we had on a 10 day trip to Argentina. Every cut of steak we had was exceptional, no sauce of any kind needed. The side dishes were also excellent as was the service. In a country known for great beef, no one comes close to doing it as well as Alto el Fuego! In addition, given the exchange rate with th dollar, you will never have the quality you get here for twice the price in the U.S....this is a must for anyone coming close to Bariloche!

I have had many great steaks at expensive restaurants in the United States and more expensive places in Argentina. But this small cozy restaurant is right up there with the best of them. Needed no sauce or anything on my magnificent Ribeye, and my girlfriend thought her filet mignon was the best she ever had. The baked cheese appetizer was amazing as well. I dont recall the name, but it started with a P and they only have one appetizer that isn't an empanada. :)

Highly recommended!
