This is a small cute hotel , overlooking the lake . Location is quite near the centre of town , but the bus service can be erratic and unpredictable . The rooms are mid size but comfortable . Lovely wooden floors . The breakfast is good and abundant .
We spent 4 nights here and would recommend it always . The room tariff is quite reasonable .

We stayed here 6 nights, and had a great time - we had the small room and it was good enough, i'd imagine that the superior rooms are quite big. They have the best breakfast we had so far in Argentina, their own lake shore and waterfall! The pool is nice though the water was cold. It is 6 KM away from the city, but even without a car its not a problem - you have enough restaurants around, or just take a Remiss (prepaid Taxi) with only 30 pesos to anywhere in town. But what makes it the best is the staff - the guys at the reception (Francisco & Francisco) are fluent in english, and went out of their way to answer any question and fullfill any request we had!

This is a good hotel about 7kms away from downtown Bariloche. The rooms are decent and there are great views of the lake. When we were here the restaurant only served breakfast.
Look out for the Chemanga's which roost in the trees all around.

Stayed 8 nights at La Cascada with my wife and our young daughter, while skiing and traveling around Bariloche area. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay, despite some minor cons (see bellow).
The staff really made a difference, even before our arrival. Everyone has been very friendly during our stay, but Nicolas - one of the receptionists/ concierges - has excelled. He had arranged a very good rental car deal for us (including ski rack, snow tires and infant seat) weeks ahead of our trip and was always very helpful on booking and organizing restaurants/ tours throughout all our stay.
The location of La Cascada was perfect for us, on the shore of Nahuel Huapi lake, midway between the downtown area and Cerro Catedral. Moreover, many of the best restaurants in town (La Salamandra Pulperia, El Patacon, El Boliche de Alberto are some examples) are located on this part of Bustillo avenue.
Our room (a superior room with lake view) was spacious and confortable, with king size bed and marvellous views of the lake.
The hotel has a pleasant heated pool overlooking the lake, besides a surprisingly good gym and billard area. These seem to have recently been renovated.
Now the cons:
- Although the rooms are spacious and also seem to have passed through a recent renovation, the decor is quite simple (not exactly minimalist) and the bathrooms are dated (even though everything was working properly).
- The breakfast is only average, not really up to a 4-star category. Moreover, the dinner options were always very limited (the menu changes every 2-3 days).
We got promotional rate through Booking.com, so I found it a very good value.

Room Tip: Be sure to get a superior suite overviewing Nahuel Huapi lake.

La Cascada gets its name from a small waterfall in the delightful grounds, which slope down - in some places quite steeply - to the shore of lake Nahuel Huapi. A converted private home, it has excellent public areas, which have the best view over the lake. Our standard room was quite adequate, and by peering through the trees we could just see the mountains on the far side of the lake. We understand though that even the suites don't have a great view. To get the best views, enjoy the public rooms and the sunny terraces.
Breakfast was basic and, unusually, served to order rather than the more widely encountered buffet: language issues made for quite an interesting experience.
We discovered that the hotel had discontinued its restaurant before we arrived, but we were referred by the really friendly staff to two places just across the main road. One is a snack bar, which was fine for the national sandwich of ham and cheese but not much more. The other is a proper restaurant providing the national protein overload. Having had unmanageably huge steaks elsewhere in Argentina we saw with delight that "mini steaks" were on the menu. They were however so large (but delicious) that we wondered how massive the non-mini steaks might be.
We like walking, but the hotel is a long way out of Bariloche, and cabs are needed if you don't have your own wheels. That adds somewhat to the cost of going to eat in town, but we were only there for two nights, and it wasn't a problem. Might be for a longer stay though.

This hotel was booked for us by Imagine Latin America as part of a multi centre trip and was better qualoity than we'd have booked for ourselves. The hotel is not really in Bariloche, but three or four miles away. You'd need a car to access the town's facilities, although there are bars and restaurants within walking distance but along a busy road. Restaurant was closed for the evening we were there - why have a closed evening in main tourism season?
The setting, however, was gorgeous, set away from the road alongside the lake with its own lawns and beach.
Reception staff were rather formal, but breakfast waitress was really friendly. There was little information about hotel facilities and local attractions - we never saw the waterfall after which the hotel is named! It was the only hotel on our trip to charge for wifi.
Lovely variety of public rooms with great views, would like to have stayed longer to have a relaxing break at this hotel.
Our bedroom had a restricted view of the lake through trees. We had only one night and had eaten before we arrived, so it served as purpose.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a lake view. Ours was smallish and had a restricted view through trees. If stay...

Lovely hotel with views of the lake. Downside is the town is only walkable if you don't mind the dust and the cars as it is about six km away! Staff were always helpful and friendly.
