What a great place. From the service, to the food and the venue. Its a little walk up the hill but is one of the best restraunts around that I have eaten at in a lond time. This place should be number 1

We ended up at Kandahar because Alto el Fuego was full. It ended up being our #2 restaurant, behind only Alto el Fuego. We split a ribeye for the main course after a venison empanadas and beef carpaccio. We also had two glasses of Bianchi malbec. All was excellent, especially the torta de chocolate with ice cream and cherry sauce, which was great.

It's a very small house, so reserve if you can. They take only cash, which is common at many restaurants (but not Alto el Fuego), so plan ahead. The house is quite charming, with many creative touches inside.

Rustic decor, well apponted, cosy, good service, limited but thoughtful menu with less emphasis on the run-of-the-mill steakhouse choices. We chose trout and the seafood brochette. Cooked to perfection. A bit off the beaten track but 15min walk from downtown.

One disappointment is that they don't accept credit/debit cards. Value for money if you're a foodie.

A group of 8 of us ate here in August 2012 to universal approval. Popular dishes in our group included the rabbit, and the venison, which I had, accompanied by red cabbage and sauteed potatoes, washed down with an outstanding Malbec. A step away from the more traditional Argentine steaks. Intimate rustic surroundings and an excellent evening.

The rabbit was lovely and there is no faults with that, however if you like your potato hard then I suppose it's good too but unfortunately for me it tasted uncooked. There was so little light i struggled to see what i was eating. I would advise you to check out other restaurants instead of this one.
