Loved every minute inside the hotel! Gorgeously designed, comfortable, surrounded by amazing views... even with a street view room I was lucky enough to face the hills covered in white! Room was big, with a comfortable bed also big enough for my 6'5 partner. Breakfast was great, delicious pastries (specially the cheese cones) accompanied by friendly staff and nice ambient music... and unique views from the lake and mountains. Front desk staff was always friendly, warm and helpful. Terra Restaurant had delicious gourmet choices, fair price with great wine selections, from the cheaper to the priciest. Pool was nice, I was unfortunate to encounter some badly behaved children who dangerously jumped into the water non stop and I couldn't relax for longer... I thought the water was a bit chilly also. It's very close to the town center, but it's only downside is that the sidewalk isn't made of concrete and after snow or rain the ground turns into a slippery mud (without appropriate boots I'd surely have slipped many times). If the sidewalks were fixed I'd give this hotel a paradise on earth status!

A very modern, new hotel, a few blocks from the heart of the city center and well within walking distance to a number of restaurants. The HAVANNA chocolate factory/museum is across the road.

The Alma del Lago is located on the Nahuel Huapi lake, with a number of rooms facing the lake and mountains. Our Junior Suite had a large double bed and a sitting area with two armchairs and a little table. The bathroom is on the large size, with a separate shower and bath and a door between the toilet and hand-wash basin area. The usual amenities and large fluffy towels as well as bath-droves are provided.

Breakfast offers a good variety of cakes and breads and an excellent omelette and egg and sausage section. Waitresses top up coffee when requested.

The best part of the hotel, only second to the wonderful views from the foyer and balcony, is the indoor pool; a must in winter months.

Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms with balconies or lake views

We traveled to this hotel as part of a Gate 1 Travel tour of South America. The hotel has some wonderful lake views but you need to ask for a higher floor room to get the best views. By the time we arrived to the hotel that evening and made it to our room it was late. We found that instead of the room that we had paid for, we were in a room that two small beds – I believe that they are called three quarters beds – bigger than a twin but smaller than a double. In fact I had to sleep sideways just to fit on the bed. We know what force was in play for the hotel to give us this room and so does the hotel. To be honest we were just too tired after a full day of traveling from Chile to Argentina that we did not go back down to complain – plus we were there only a couple of nights. The rooms have wood floors which is nice but does tend to increase the level of noise between rooms. There is a lot of light that shines in under the door from the hallway at night. There were insufficient hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes/towels while showering – the one that existed was right above the bidet – not a place I want to hang my clothes. There were no TV stations in English, while I speak a little Spanish it is not good enough to watch the news which we like to keep up on while traveling.

The breakfast was very limited and not enjoyable. There were no hot options for vegetarians who do not eat eggs. There was yogurt, but we found the yogurt in South America to be very runny and really it was only drinkable. There were far too many desserts, and mostly dried out, on the breakfast buffet – not sure if this is how they get rid of the restaurant leftovers from the night before. The breads were very dry as was the cheese – we went to breakfast right as it opened. The only tasty item was the hot chocolate.

Room Tip: A room higher up will provide better views

Dear Tony R We thank you for your visit and we regret your words, our rooms are espacious, with beautiful views, large beds as many matrimonial as the individual, where all our guests have slept comfortably. Our breakfast is very varied and praised by all our guests, and if there is no product you can ask our waiters. We want to emphasize that our breakfast is not made with leftovers from the day before, they are fresh products.
As for the hooks in the bathrooms we are implementing put more.
Thank you so much for your time and we hope you give us another chance and see the improvements.
Greetings coridales

A smart and modern hotel on the edge of Bariloche, but within a reasonable walking distance. Located on the very edge of Lake Nahuel Huapi with stunning views. Well appointed bedrooms.
Excellent restaurant and staff are very efficient, helpful and friendly.
There is an indoor pool and plenty of space in the gardens to just sit and contemplate the views.
