We stayed at an apartment a few doors down from Tony's. Stopped in for dinner. Had the provolone cheese special -- it was like a big omelette with sliced tomatoes on top. Not bad, but too much for the 2 of us. The steak was underdone -- even for DH who likes it rare. I was able to get a salad, but there were no other veggies on the menu. Not even mushrooms to go with that steak. Just french fries.

We were recommended this place by the hostel, and were told that it was a local favourite.

We were not disappointed. Having ordered a mixed grill for two at 200 pesos in total, we were fed a stream of steaks (of different cuts), ribs, and belly. The meat was juicy and tender, and the owner (who we thought was "Tony" wearing a waist coat type apron) greeted us at our table. The waiters constantly checked we were ok and had enough to eat. The meat kept coming until we could eat no more.

The salad was very fresh and served with delicious olive and balsamic dressing. Simple but did the job.

Yes there was a charge for bread, and service, but we didn´t feel ripped off. Although it was on the expensive side, the quality was good and we had so much we were stuffed.

We were very impressed and came away very satisfied.

Went here with high expectations as had read some good reviews. First off we noticed that the prices were very high, but after having had some enormous steaks elsewhere in Bariloche, we thought the portion size would reflect the higher cost. My girlfriend ordered the lamb, I had the pork and we shared a side of french fries as they were £4 each.

The lamb was full of bone with hardly any meat on it at all- in fact out of 5 pieces you only got about 4 mouthfuls. At one point my girlfriend picked it up to try and bite some more meat off but it was all bone. The edible bits were also quite fatty. The pork was actually very nice, but the size was a shock as it was quite small for the price.

Both the lamb and the pork without the side order came to £15 each, which is one of the most expensive meals we have had in South America. We would have been happy to pay this if the quality had lived up to the price, but it really didn't. The waiter was a bit of a pain as well as we felt he was just trying to up-sell everything to us. He kept suggesting we order more when placing our order saying we would need a side of french fries each, even though when it came it was more than enough (although they weren't great as were quite greasy and definitely not worth £4!).

After the meal, we didn't feel satisfied and weren't impressed with the price we had worked out that the bill would cost. When the bill arrived it was much higher than what we had calculated. I queried this and it turns out they had charged us extra for the bread at the start- even though they just gave it to us when we sat down. We haven't been charged anywhere else for bread so this was a surprise! Finally, to top it all off, they charged us 10% service charge, when we had already decided to be "generous" and give them 5%.

When we tried to pay, we asked to pay on our card but they informed us we needed ID to do this so we were going to suggest one of us goes to the ATM down the street to withdraw some cash. However, before we could do this the woman jus ran off with our card. 3mins later i called the waiter over and asked where she was and she was trying to process it through the machine and getting quite angry. We went over and finally it worked and we left without so much as a thank you or goodbye.

All in all we were very disappointed as we have been to some fine steak-houses in Argentina and this one seemed more interested in making money than customer satisfaction. We didn't try the beef so can't really comment on that but definitely stay clear of the lamb!

Had wonderful asado in a typical Argentinian parrilla setting. Well located, served by Tony, a butcher from Buenos Aires, who cooks and walks around making sure everything is ok. We enjoyed the evening
