By far the best place to eat in bariloche. Warm, cozy, and a great view. Kobe beef is the best steak I have eaten in Aegentina.
Staff is great and the living room where the fire is is very welcoming.

Cool place -- windows draped in red and the Alpine decor so common in Bariloche. When you walk in you're greeted by a woman offering a cocktail (or some jugo de naranja if you're not drinking) and you're encouraged to wait for a table in the little shop in the lobby. Ok, it's a bit manipulative but certainly manageable. Food was delicious -- local Patagonian lamb, trucha, a great provoleta. Good service, nice atmosphere and all around a place we would definitely revisit.

This place had a large menu. I had a very good filet mignon and average salad. I thought the place had good ambience. Service was a little slow. The tourist map has a coupon for 15% off which we did not know about so I would look for that.

We went to El Patacon in Bariloche, and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We had the fried queso with mushrooms and peppers for an appetizer, and it was yummy. Moved on to risotto and beef, which were both done perfectly - the risotto was al dente and flavorful. The steak was medium rare (VERY pink inside) even though we ordered medium, but my boyfriend had the end pieces which were more thoroughly cooked, and I did the interior, which ended up being perfect for us. The beef was thick, tender and flavorful. They also served a large bread basket with sides of a carrot puree, a chimichurri sauce, and an onion/salsa/olive oil/diced pepper side, which was amazing with everything. We shared the appetizer, entree, and side dish too - the portions are normal-to-on-the-larger-size, so sharing was perfect for us. If you love a huge steak, order one for yourself though. Also, great lake view, and the ambience was rustic chic - cozy and tastefully done :)

Don't get me wrong, we had an enjoyable meal here but I expected so much more. The service is good and the menu is extensive. The problem here and in most other parillas in this country is that they believe meat must be overcooked and dried out. That was the case here with the lamb. It tasted as though it was roasted the day before and reheated. They had home-made gluten-free dinner rolls which is a rarity anywhere. Great location on a bit of a hill overlooking the lake.
