How often to you get the chance to say '"I stayed in a penthouse when I was backpacking through Argentina!"

The dorms are spacious(and have an incredible view), the kitchen is huge (and has an incredible view) and the common areas are also huge! (and yes you guessed it have an incredible view!!). On top of the incredible view the staff are FAB!! My only complaint was that my shower was too hot!!!

If you happen to come to “1004 Penthouse” just for a glimpse you won’t go anywhere else . The best atmosphere and the best view in Bariloche! Well equipped kitchen, free coffee, very friendly stuff, chill out music. This is the best place if you need a brake during your travel. I doubt if there is any better place in Patagonia to chill out after trekking. No penthouse in NY could compete with 1004

Everything from the view to the breakfast (home made bread & banana cake every morning!) set this hostel apart from all the rest. It has a lovely atmosphere and the girls running it (especially Annie) are amazingly friendly and warm. During our stay they organised a ´pot luck´dinner and everyone got involved, it was brilliant! There is free internet, really comfy communal areas, a huge balcony overlooking the lake and a professional-style kitchen. Thanks!

This is the best Hostal I've stayed in over the last 6 wks in Argentina. The view is amazing, they have a really comfortable common living space and big dinning area. The kitchen is the best I've experienced. Well equipped with 2 sides to cook on. Able to walk out to small terrace to enjoy the view from outside. Very well run, nice young women who run the joint and speak English. Helped set up a biking tour. Only downfall is you can't book online, only by phone. So I just showed up and only had dorms available, would've love a private double. Rooms are clean and nice but nothing overly special. The noice from the street/plaza can be quite loud. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Very comfortable common area with excellent kitchen and plenty of storage. Good lockers, beds comfortable. Will arrange laundry for you. Only downsides - ever so slightly impersonal (but always high quality) service and only one computer. Good wifi.
