We really did not enjoy our stay here, inconsiderate people banging doors all through the night, cold, sterile corridors with lots of rooms. Friendly enough reception staff but in such a large place, no one knows your name.

The rooms were not particularly clean, especially the bathroom. We stayed in a double and the sheet barely fitted over the edge of the bed, never mind tucked in over the mattress. Ir was also very expensive for what we got.

Saving grace the scrambled eggs and pancakes for breakfast, certainly not the best breakfast in Argentina as there was only cornflakes or bread other than that but it was certainly a positive feature here!

We stayed for a few nights at the TangoInn and we were really impressed. We did not have a room booked and so they allowed us to wait in the large common room until a room was prepared. The common room is modern, clean and comfortable, offering a large TV, pool table, leather sofas and wifi (although this sometimes lost connection, particularly in our room). All with a stunning view of the lake and mountains.

Our room was a private double with ensuite bathroom, again overlooking the mountains. We had a shower and a bath, a TV, and good heating (essential in the winter). The kitchen area is large and has a great range of utensils, the large griddle was particularly useful. Breakfast in the morning is generous, with a member of staff cooking eggs and pancakes to order, and cheese was a welcome sight for the bread too :-)

The staff were very helpful with every question we had, and even found a way to repair the Jacuzzi quickly when we asked to use it. The Jacuzzi was of no extra cost and we spent a few hours there, I suspect that this may change in High Season.

TangoInn is close to town and the stunning view more than makes up for the steep hill!

At the time of writing this review, Bariloche was still suffering with the ash that fell from the Chilean volcano in June 2011. It did not cause too much of a problem, but did affect breathing on a windy day and also covered our things in a layer of ash when we left the windows open.

Room Tip: Try to get a view of the lake and mountains.

Double room was of average cleanliness - black hair doesnt help on the floor and in the wardrobe. Noisy at night and not the friendliest hostel but thats not hostels fault its more the clientele. Very good breakfast for Argentina is redeeming feature.

I stayed in this hostel twice, once in dorm rooms and once in a private room. The dorm rooms only have one key per room, which is very inconvenient, although they are comfortable rooms. The private rooms, however, are excellent value for your money. We got a lake view room with a full size bathroom and shower with tub, even had shampoo and conditioner for us. Much cheaper and higher quality rooms than their nearby HI hostel, the Hostel Inn (although they have better dorm rooms).

There is a private jacuzzi for 10 pesos per hour, definitely worth using! Breakfast is excellent with eggs and crepes made on demand, as well as bread and cereal.

The staff are helpful with tours. I'd recommend the circuit tour, which had an entertaining guide, and which brings you to a beautiful viewpoint overlooking the entire area of lakes and mountains (Breathtaking), as well as many other stops. The tour is 57 pesos, and there is an additional 40 pesos to take the lift to the top of the mountain, although it is only offered in Spanish.

Don't forget to try Mamushka chocolate in downtown!

We stayed at the TangoInn as part of our honeymoon trip and it did not disappoint. Our room was one of the double superior with a great lake view and with cable tv. Bariloche is an adventure destination with many outdoor activities. Unfortunately for us, it rained the whole time we were there so we had to spend a lot of time indoors. But fortunately, the TangoInn is a great place to hang out. The commonroom is large and comfortable with a pool table and television. However, the highlight for us was getting to use the jacuzzi spa. On one rainy day we booked a massage and organized it through the hotel, followed by a private hour in the jacuzzi tub. It was very clean with new water just for us and a great view of the lake. Very relaxing and best of all it does not cost extra to use the tub.
Another great thing about this hotel is the breakfasts. In Argentina it is typical to get only bread and dulce de leche for breakfast at your regular hostel. TangoInn serves made to order eggs and crepes in addition to your regular breads and cereals.
Great staff and very organized operation as hostels go.
