“Park only in front of museum!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2013

This is a delightful museum. I was particularly impressed with the looped film they show which discusses the history of the universe in reverse -- starting from now and working its way backwards in time. The exhibits are interesting and the visit ends with an opportunity to observe the staff working with artifacts . . . or eating their lunch or visiting. Hey, we can't work all the time right? However, if you have anything in your car, only park directly in front of the museum where the local police are standing there watching. We parked behind the museum after seeing police walking around and thought it was safe. We were wrong and lost all our suitcases (we were heading to the airport after the museum) and now one of our only souvenirs from our trip to Argentina is a police report.

“What a gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2013

Who would think such an excellent museum and interpretative centre could be found in such an out of the way spot. being able to what the scientists at their work is also a joy and the whole museum is well laid out and the exhibits well explained.
Beware however! Car theft seems to be endemic in Trelew - we parked our hire care outside of the hotel on a bright afternoon and returned to find it had been broken into - police not much help and showed little willingness to investigate - gave the insurance form only. I hear from others who have travelled in the area that this is a real problem

“fascinating dinosaur museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2012

Small but well-designed museum. Some information in English and more in Spanish. A look into to incredibly rich trove of paleontolgical finds from the area with greater depth of information than I've found in larger museums in the US. Worth a visit if you are in Trelew and have any interest in dinosaurs or evolution.

“A state-of-the-art museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2008

A wonderful paleonthological museum, with beautifully displayed dinosaur fossils, that tells about pre-historic Patagonia. You can even see the scientists and students at work, preserving an array of new fossils found in the region. Not many kilometers away, near Gaiman, there is an open-air section of the mueseum, where you can walk along trails to see semi-uncovered fossilized skeletons, in a moon-like environment. A must-see place, if you are visiting Trelew.
