“Very good Boutique Hotel in Salta city, Argentina”
Reviewed March 29, 2013

A very nice colonial style boutique hotel in Salta down town. The ambiente is really nice, alltough the hotel itself is a little bit dark inside, which obviously is related to the buildng style.
Also because of the same reason there is no swimming pool or fitness area.
As on flights the travel experience depends on he crews , also in hotels the acommodation experience deoends on the staff wih receives you. In our case we had a bad experience at hte checkin. The person was receiving us was not friendly and / or service orientated at all.
The rest of the staff (local people ) instead was absolutely ok and service orientated.
Additional point of possible improvement, if you call yourself a "boutique hotel" you have staff to serve or bring the coffe ti the guests for the breakfast and dont just leave a termo in the table which when it is epmty you have to go to the kitchen to ask for more. Also to much tables in the breakfast-room make it difficult to reache the bread, juice, etc.
Nevertheless, all in all if you want to stay in a very good hotel in down town Salta, this is an excellent option.

Room Tip: We stayed at the "Escritora" which was very good.

Oh boy, did we strike lucky in Salta? We booked a room in the Hotel Legado de Mitigo in the centre of the city. It is a large and spacious old townhouse that has been expertly converted in to a boutique hotel. The rooms were all large and were themed. Ours, El Wichi, was based on the Indian tribe that lived in this area and there were old photographs and other memorabilia around the room from that era. The room was huge, more like an apartment than a suite. It was quiet, and it was comfortable. The reception areas were well appointed, and there was a lovely smell of wood polish in the library where we enjoyed a complimentary glass of Malbec wine. Breakfast was fine. We had an issue confirming our flight to BA and the staff were extremely helpful in sorting it out for us. The hotel is located 4 blocks from the Central Square which is well worth a visit at night when the cathedral is beautifully illuminated and young couples dance the tango on the bandstand. Great city and with the help of the front desk, Rodrigo and Jose', you will see and experience it all.The art work, design and clearly thought interior decorating make the hotel a joy, a home away from home. Breakfast is excellent and well served by a caring staff. Good management all around and we hope the open more hotels soon as there is somebody with a plan and a vision and execution/training capability behind this hotel.

Room Tip: all rooms are very large, courtyard views are best.

I stayed at Legado Mitico Salta for three nights in Feb of 2013. The hotel is beautiful and very elegant. It was everything we expected. The most impressive event was when I left my wallet in a restaurant the night before check out. When I discovered it missing in the morning the man at the desk told me that he would get it back. And he did. It was JetPacked to me the next day with the money and credit cards still present. I was amazed. This was a very special effort which was greatly appreciated. I would go back again if I ever get back to Salta.

Located in the center of town, very close to main square in an old townhouse. Rooms are spacious, isolation however poor, especially between floors. We were woken uo at 5 am by upstairs neighbors. Decoration is stylish, however feels a bit déja vu.
Nice breakfast. Having travelled quite a bit in Argentina and Uruguay, we were surprised by the lack of hspitality and friendliness of the management on duty that day.
We booked through booking.com and were surprised to find out that our credit card had been charged long before our stay which is not booking.com policy.

We regret the misunderstanding but we must make clear that the rate applied in the reserve was special and had the following cancellation and deposit policiy: "if canceled, modified or in case or no show, the full price of the reservation will be charged. The full price of the reservation will be charged on the day of booking". This information is specified in the web page of Booking.com when looking up special reserves and in the confirmation form the guest received after booking.

A charming boutique hotel within walking distance of the town's square and restaurant and night club area. It is quiet, the rooms are large and comfortable and the staff friendly. The breakfast was not of the standard one would expect from a hotel of this quality. The eggs and meat were not kept at a hot temperature making them inedible. The coffee was mediocre and the espresso was not a true espresso. The staff is helpful.

We stayed at the Legado Mitico in Salta in December 2012. The hotel is charming and the standard to which it is maintaned is excellent. It is also excellently located. Service was friendly, excellent and helpful. We left some valuables behind in the safe by mistake when we left and the staff went out of their way to make sure that they were all returned to us via an intermediary even though they knew we would not be returning to Salta any time soon. Thoroughly recommended.
