“Lovely hike with gorgeous scenery”
Reviewed November 12, 2012

Go early - it gets very hot around noon! Not too difficult of a hike and gave great views of the surrounding area. Get up close with beautiful desert plants and smaller wildlife. Lovely!

“A great place to hike!”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Hike to the wind cave. Very inspiring! It can be hard but it's worth the effort. Great for cycling also.

“Great Hike”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

We took our kids and the rangers gave us a map and ideas of what to do. we did the big hike that was around 3 miles round trip, up to the top (or close to) it was very interesting. we should have taken lots more water, we had a bottle per person. our kids did great with it and our youngest was 5. it had switchback, big boulders, flowers and neat views. it was a while ago that we went but it seems it was about $6 per car, but it was worth the explore.

“The place to take your visitors to who want to experience the desert”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

Great hiking, great ranger programs, and a nice campground. Very close to the city, yet very far. Living next door we always take our visitors here and they always love it.

“Best hiking and ranger-led programs”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

We're so blessed to live close to this park. There are enough trails to provide variety and all levels. Cat peaks is my personal favorite as the back side is the best for spotting wildlife. The interpretive ranger here, Ranger B, is extremely knowlegeable about desert plants and animals. He leads fun and interesting programs frequently. Our whole family enjoys this park and we are annual pass holders.
