“Good Gyros!”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Gyros are very good, and the fries are pretty good. I haven't had anything else from here though. The value is good also, and the service is also good.

“Best Greek Food Around .... and it's cheap!”
Reviewed February 19, 2012

I asked Trip Advisor to add Omega Gyros so I could write about it. This is one of my favorite places in the Mesa-Scottsdale area.

Location: It's buried at the end of the Mesa Riverview Mall - close to the Cinemark Theatres, and at the opposite end from Bass Pro Shops and Toby Keith's. This end of the mall was designed for fast food joints, and most unfortunately,Omega's Gyros is the only survivor. Don't let all the empty storefronts put you off!

Food: Standard Greek fare - gyros, moussaka, lamb shank, Greek salad, etc. Very generous portions with the gyros and salad. This guy does it right with meat carved off the spit. He gets his food from authentic Greek suppliers in Chicago. The lentil soup is great. In fact, everything I've tried has been great. I also appreciate the large squeeze-bottle of tzakziki that you're given instead of those stupid little cups most restaurants use to dole out minute portions of this most Greek condiment.

Ambience: It's a standard storefront with the obligatory pictures of Athens and Santorini. Simple but very clean and bright. it reminds me of many similar places I've been to in Greece, especially in some of the "provinces" away from Athens. You order at the counter and pick up your plastic tray with styrofoam plate and plastic cutlery when called. So, it's not fancy.

Cost: $10 range for a filling meal.

Bottom Line: If you insist upon fancy decor and service, go elsewhere. If you want good food though, come here!
