This comfortable and casual restaurant is a historic landmark in Mesa. The walls are painted with fun quotations about wine (“Wine is sunlight, held together by water”--Galileo), bringing attention to their well-stocked wine bar. Delicious warm rolls were brought to the table to munch on while we reviewed the menu. Our server was friendly and offered a number of suggestions, which we followed. The crispy pork loin served over a fontina cheese risotto with orange caper berry sauce was excellent, but the lobster mac’n cheese was on the dry side. Although the meals weren’t consistent, this is a nice casual place to enjoy a glass of wine and some food before or after strolling down the nearby streets of the downtown Art District.
