“Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch”
Reviewed March 8, 2014

We dined here prior to our 2:30 Desert Belle cruise. The service was a little delayed, but we enjoyed our gyro and turkey burger. Both were deliciously prepared. The parking lot gets a "lot" crowded since they share the lot with the cruise patrons.

“Location Location”
Reviewed March 3, 2014

Don't expect amazing food, and you will not be disappointed. They have very decent food, and a super view over the lake. Its old school, and portions are large. The service is pretty slow when they are busy, but on a beautiful day, just plan on it. Slow down and enjoy life.

“Wholesome Food and Great Views”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

There are apparently a lot of tripadvisor folks who expect this restaurant to be a 5-star establishment on the lake. It's not. However, it is a great place to have lunch prior to boarding the Desert Belle boat tour on Saguaro Lake. Since many of the patrons of the boat tour choose to have lunch at the Lakeshore Restaurant prior to their cruise, it does tend to be crowded but we found that they are able to accommodate everyone with a smile prior to the cruise. There is an extensive menu, reasonably priced, served in either inside or outside seating. If you're not a restaurant snob, you'll find that this restaurant more than fulfills its task of offering delicious food at reasonable prices.

“Bad idea...”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

We thought it would be nice to eat here before boarding the Desert Belle, bad idea! The place is outdated, stale, service was slow...we arrived at 11am, was finally given our waters at 11:20. We didn't receive our food until 11:41 am, and we had to be in line for the boat at 12 noon. The food is over-rated and over-priced! I paid $13.95 for a spinach chicken salad. The table next to us waited EVEN LONGER for their food, almost 50 minutes! Poor service, outdated restaurant, slow kitchen, food was mediocre at best. NOTHING HERE IMPRESSED us except for the view. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND!

“Taste's like something from Mel's Diner”
Reviewed January 20, 2014

Stopped in here for lunch with a friend and was not impressed. There was no one to greet us or seat us when we first came in. Thought we would sit inside since it was a little chilly outside and we made a mistake. It was cold in the dining room and the only heat they had going was coming from one of those little 12 inch heaters that you put under your desk to keep your feet warm. Really? Don't know how they can't afford to turn on the heat for the prices they charged for their food. I get it that they are out at the lake and not in town but $12 for a burger or sandwich that is sub-par in not acceptable. I had the barbecued pulled pork sandwich and was not impressed. It had no flavor, I had to put ketchup on it for flavor. It tasted like the pork was sitting in hot water as it was really wet and not from barbecue sauce. The french fries were definitely frozen and not fresh.

Overall, I would not recommend eating here even with the view. Do yourself a favor by bringing your own lunch and enjoying the view at the lake elsewhere.
