“The night light show was amazing”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

If you get the chance while in San Ignacio try not to miss the well organised and presented night light show in the grounds of the Mission. It provides a wonderful insight into the history of the area and the hardships encountered. We were not sure what to expect and found it an amazing experience.Translations by audio are available.

“Visiting this area not complete without visiting a mission”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Great information in many languages. Some audio displays not functional which is unfortunate but there's so much restoration still needed and funds only go so far. Nonetheless, really worthwhile. This is the only mission I visited - I think it is enough but there are more in the area if you are so inclined. Light and sound show at night was great fun too. They provide headsets and audio in many languages so you don't have to understand Spanish to get the full effect.

“Excellent place to learn history”
Reviewed January 27, 2012

I enjoyed seeing this place and learning about history of the missions in this part of the world. Museum is quite good, and worth spending some time there. Seeing the Sound and Light Show at night should be a must. So nicely done! Take a tripod for your camera. It was a very pleasant way to finish a day in San Ignacio.

“Fascinating story of the Guarani and the Jesuits”
Reviewed December 7, 2011

The mission ruins tell a fascinating story of the Jesuit efforts to convert and civilize the Guarani. I speak English, and paid for an English guide. The young woman was studying tourism and had an internship of sorts at San Ignacio. She did a wonderful job telling the story, sometimes asking for help with English, but also teaching me a few Spanish words. The ruins themselves are fascinating, and you can get a real feel for the layout. The tour takes about an hour, maybe more depending on the detail you want to see and learn. Definitely worth a stop when in the area.

“A Piece of Colonial History”
Reviewed December 6, 2011

San Ignacio Mini is a piece of colonial history. You can learn on the daily life of jesuit misionaires and guaranis indians some centuries ago. WOrth to visit if you like history and interested on ancient cultures and spanish colonization. Attractive infrastructure.
