It is still amazing and worth the effort if you are unable to do the Argentine side. You won't get anywhere near as close and it may only last you 1 - 2 hrs compared to 6 - 8 hrs on the other side.
Catch the local bus 120 from the main street in the city for $1.50 Australian or $3 pesos. Its Not worth paying for a tour.

Got to go!~cant not describe it!Grabiel Garcia Marquez once said that he actually started "100 years of Solitud" at the young age of 17!~but after the first parragraph he lacked the right words to continue (something like that) well! no words to describe the "cataratas"!` go and enjoy it!~

Superlatives cannot overstate the impact of these falls and their strength and amount of water and distance they cover. Regardless of what anyone says, you will still be blown away by Mother Nature

We based our trip in Brazil but added an extra day to do the Argentinian side. I'm really glad we did. Its a very different feel and overall better. You can get up closer...in fact you can get very close; bring some waterproofs and some walking boots as there's more Km of trails.
I have to say to that this trip made me really appreciate the Argentinians we met..really very nice people. We decided that (even though there are tensions between the UK and Argentina) Argentina will get our support in 2014, when I'm sure they will be playing Brazil in the world cup final! But back to the falls....don't miss them!
