“Excellent location just 20 m from the bus station, restaurants, etc”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

The hotel people were very friendly, and the hotel was very nice. It was undergoing some renovation but we did not experience any problems (the renovations were in a separate wing of the hotel). The pool looked nice but we did not use it (we were all day sightseeing). Only thing bad was that the internet connection was not very reliable, cutting on and off all the time (please fix it...). Breakfast was good. Best thing: it is very central so you can travel to all your destinations by city bus which is very convenient and reliable (e.g., to the Iguazu National Park there are buses every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 20:00, it takes 20 minutes to get there and only ~US $2).

After some challenges on the Brazil side of Iguazu Falls, we searched the Web for a new hotel. We found Hotel Saint George online and thought we'd found heaven! Frommer's Peru guide is on target - friendly staff who speak Spanish, English, Portuguese. A nice little lounge with lime-filled Caipirinhas (sp?), a sauna, Internet for a small charge, huge and tasty buffet which even vegans will enjoy, bus station and laundry across the street (put your hefty load of laundry in a crate for 35 pesos). Small store up the street for water (look for Peruvian brands vs. Coca Cola if you are so inclined), restaurant choices in walking distance. We had a very nice triple room for about $40 each. After Peru hostals of varied comfort and quality, we were very happy for 3 nights!

Stayed here for one night as part of a two day trip to Iguazu falls. The hotel is right across the street from the main bus stop in the city. You can get to the Brazil side of the falls as well as the Argentina side of the falls from bus stops in the terminal. The hotel has free internet but i did have some trouble connecting with my Iphone.
The rooms are spacious with full bathrooms and a nice king size bed. Air Conditioner works well. 24 inch TV was in the room with cable. Breakfast is included and it is served in the Dona Maria Restaurante next door so its a full breakfast with various tables with eggs, meats, breads etc. Breakfast was pretty impressive. Also, since the hotel is attached to the restaurant, you do not have to go outside to get to the restaurant.

For the price, the rooms were top notch. If you are looking for a clean, spacious and fully functional room, this is the hotel for you.
The grounds of the hotel were very well maintained with a large pool as well as a Jacuzzi. No complaints at all.
There is some construction going on next to the hotel but when I was there I didn't hear any noise or have any issues with this construction. I am not sure if they were even working on it.

Transportation - When landing at the airport in town, there are only 2 options. Taxi or shuttle bus. The shuttle bus is 30 pesos and does take a while since you have to drop off others. A taxi costs roughly 120 pesos.

Room Tip: The park closes its doors at 4 PM so if you arrive late to the hotel, do not expect to be able to se...

Hotel was part of the Igassu falls tour package. It was clean, quiet and friendly. Bathe pool was beautiful even in there winter months. Breakfast was included and was lovely large continental choices. The staff spoke some english and were able to communicate directions well. We would stay again. Internet was a bit sketchy in the rooms but once you found where it worked, it was stable. Nthank you for a lovely time. Lots of great street merchants out in the evening. The after dark walking was safe in this neighborhood.

We stayed two nights here.

The hotel is located right in the "centre" of the town.

There was a pool but did not use it.

Staff spoke adequate English.

Room was clean and spacious.

Breakfast area is very spacious and the offerings were good with a lot of selection (be cautious of eating fruits if you have a delicate stomach).

Points to note:

1. The bathroom is *not* air conditioned. Apparently this is "normal" for the area. This means that the bathroom is boiling but the room itself is nice and cool.

2. The room safe is awkward to operate. Pay close attention to the porter when he or she gives you instructions on how to use it (you basically have to reset and program it every time).

3. For dinner, the restaurant connected to the hotel (where the breakfast is) has all-you-can-eat buffet which includes the parilla (which is basically the best part of the buffet). This was about 90 Argentinean pesos per person and we thought it was a good value.

4. Sometimes there may be a performance at a restaurant across the street which can be really loud if you're trying to get to bed early so if you do, then request a room away from the main road. When we were there in March 2012, there also seemed to be construction going on, so I would also ask when the hours are. As we left the hotel before 9:00 a.m., and didn't get back until after 6:00 p.m., we didn't notice the noise but it could be a nuisance.

The location of the hotel is great and is located just off the main street with lots of shops and restaurants.

The room was large, clean, and comfortable! The room I was in had 2 Queen beds and the bathroom had a separate shower and tub. There were 2 courtesy pool towels and a hairdryer with straightening attachment - great bonus!

The breakfast spread was average, as with most hotels in Argentina. The coffee is quite strong and is not for the average coffee drinker.

The staff were nice and friendly and spoke a very good English.

Notes: The wifi is unreliable and disconnects frequently. If you use the minbar, even for a bottle of water, there is a minimum 30 peso charge, so keep that in mind. At 10 pesos per bottle, one bottle of water will have to turn into 3.
