“Out of the ordinary”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

First of all, people in Argentina eat late, so when we came in the restaurant was empty.
But as soon as we entered the door we were welcomed by the owner like we were invited into his own home. A very charming man with lots to tell.
The menu was told to us by the owner in a way that you almost could taste the food that he was describing.
That by itself was already a treat.
And then the end result.... the food. We had ordered cheese filled grapes in cheese fundue and shrimps as an apetiser and for the main course steak (bife de chorizo) and a fish dish (Patu), everything was prepared to perfection, the ingredients (all fresh), the taste, the way the plates were garnished, it all was just right.
we highley recommend this place to everyone who will ever visit puerto Iguazu!!!!!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

“Great food. Calm place. Atencious owner.”
Reviewed February 11, 2013

I followed TripAdvisor and I don't regret it. This small family owned restaurant has the best food I' ve eaten in the Iguaçu/Iguazu area. The owner himself, Mr. Alberto, patiently describes the menu. The shrimp was amazing! We've also eaten gnochi and vareneke (ravioli from East Europe). Everything was great. Total cost was only USS60 for 4 persons. Credit cards are accepted, but Mr. Alberto prefers payment in cash.

“Don't get your hopes up”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

On our last night in Puerto Iguazu after 3 other fantastic dinners, we went to La Vaca Enamorada. The owner is interesting and first tells you all the reasons why you might be unhappy- not many choices, slow service, etc.. That was all fine with us. Most of the food was very good- but the meat was average (and plain) and the salad was lettuce in a bowl with two slices of tomato. The owner offered what we thought was the house Malbec, and it turned out to be our most expensive bottle of wine and our most expensive dinner in the area. There is no menu, and the prices are not ever mentioned- we didn't expect them to be as high as they were so we didn't ask (and the owner would have certainly frowned upon that question). We were really dissapointed overall -maybe due to high expectations as it is so highly rated on tripadvisor. It seemed like everyone in the restaurant had the same feeling .. I saw a few couples deciding if they should stay or go, or rolling their eyes over the long wait, very slow process, and long-winded owner. I almost feel bad writing this as the owner does ask you- several times- to write on Tripadvisor, and the food was certainly decent- just far from the best in town.

Dear guest while his discomfort from what I understand is a question of time and money ... your desapunto sincerely sorry and grateful for his critical response it deserves.
Far from TRIPADVISOR argue only highlights the views of other diners who undoubtedly think diametrically the opposite with 92% satisfaction. Secondly if we list the menu, printed in Spanish and the Tablet in English, French and Portuguese. Regarding wines I can not specify the brands I can only say that the house wine is a Sangiovese and its price is U $ S DE4, while the middle line and selected the most expensive type malbec is 10 U $ S, finally the top line of at least 20 U $ S to a maximum of 35. No synthetic serve wine, do not comidadas prewritten. We believe that you deserve guests the utmost attention, healing foods and enjoy time out while they made their request for aomas and appreciate the taste of a dish healthy, fresh and top quality. I cordially greet Juan Alberto.

“Gorgeous beef... and there's so much of it”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

Iguazu was the first on our 3-week trip around Argentina. Having arrived in town late in the evening we went straight to Alberto's La Vaca, a little bit surprised at first as there was no-one besides us.

Alberto totally made our evening, he doesn't speak much English, so had to try hard to understand just a little bit of his Spanish. But it didn't really matter, as 90% of conversations are usually non-verbal. He was fun and charming a good salesman, but nobody's looking to become friends with the owner on the first visit, right?

We've been here twice and the steaks which we ordered both times just got bigger and bigger that they couldn't fit on the plate. Prices were a little steep as we understood having toured around the country later (150 ARS vs average 100 ARS), but this $10 difference is nothing compared to the taste, atmosphere and great time we got.

Hope reviewers stop bragging about the prices as most of them come from US, Europe, where you'd pay 5 times more than at Alberto's and for worse.

Alberto, wish your business continues to do well, let Rome know what a wonderful chef it had let go to Argentina. Thank you.

“Friendly owner and good food”
Reviewed January 7, 2013 via mobile

I went here alone to eat, the waiter/owner noticed that and was really friendly, talking to me a lot.
I ordered a steak, after a while he came to me apologizing for the meat, he said that the only steak he had were of bad quality, and that I could change my order if I wanted to. I said that I really wanted the steak and as a compensation he told me that my appetizer and wine were on the house. When the steak came out it was great, nothing wrong with the quality at all! Good customer service
