“great stay”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

Had a three night stay here while visiting the waterfalls. Its a five or ten min cab ride from the town which is pretty cheap and Lorena gets a discount too so even better. Lorena and Andrea are great hosts, very friendly and helpful with all the tour stuff, restaurants etc...and they have three really funny dogs too, if you are a dog lover, they will each amuse you in different ways. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. You can use Lorenas laptop in the room if you dont have your own computer which was a plus for us. Breakfast was very good too, eggs, cereal, fruit etc and really gets you up for the day. Iguazu is a great little town to visit, nice relaxed atmosphere and some good restaurants and of course the falls are just incredible. We had a really good stay here, would def recommend.

If you want a nice place to stay near the Iguazu waterfalls, this is the place. Andrea and Lorena are the best hostesses. We had lovely long and entertaining conversations with Lorena, while Andrea was making simple but lovely diner. Although we lost 1 day because of a flightcrew strike, and it rained thru all our stay, this is still one we remember. Room was very spacious and nicely decorated. Hottest shower we had during our total stay in Argentina. We never even made it into the village of Iguaze, Casa Yaguarete was enough for us.

I would recommend this B&B over any of the five star hotels in this area because it was such good value for money. The room I stayed in was brand new with a lovely big (also brand new) bathroom. The room was huge with a double bed and a single bed with plenty of floor space a and large windows and lots of light. I mainly chose this accommodation based on price - most accommodation in and around Iguazu is very expensive and this was one of the cheapest I could find but I am really glad that I chose this place. The wi-fi was faster than at my place of work in Buenos Aires. The breakfast was fantastic and plenty of choice. You also get to choose when you want to eat. Lorena organised taxis for me etc and gave me plenty of advice - I doubt that you would get that personalised service at one of the typical chain hotels that charge four times the price. A lot of hotels (particularly the Sheraton, which has tired rooms and tired bathrooms with building work going on) insist that staying in or very near the park is vital but it really isn't. A ten or fifteen minute walk from Casa Yaguarate takes you to the bus stop and buses to the Falls are very frequent and cost only 10 Pesos. Taxis into town and to the Triple Frontier are very cheap and Lorena can recommend good places to go. Don't bother paying more for a standard, chain hotel - this was one of the most comfortable places I have stayed in a long time and I would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: There are only 2 rooms! I imagine they are similar!

Lorena and Andrea are wonderful people. They really made our trip to Iguazu enjoyable and made us feel at home. Currently there are two rooms to rent, which was perfect since we were traveling with another couple. The food was great! We had breakfast each morning, and they even made us a simple but delicious dinner one night after he hiked the falls and didn't feel like going out to dinner. They used avocados from their trees to make us guacamole and tangerines to make fresh juice in the morning.

The rooms were clean and simply appointed. They are exactly what I expected based on the price. The mattresses are firm, which I prefer, but others may not like as much. The location of the B&B is not near the town, but we preferred that quiet location and it was not expensive to take taxis anywhere we wanted to go. They arranged all of our taxis (to/from town, the airport, the national park), but also gave us detailed information on how to take the bus if we wanted to.

Once they found out we were dog lovers, they introduced us to their three dogs: Batu, Boris, and Beethoven. Having them around made it feel even more like home.

If we ever go back to Iguazu, we would stay with Lorena and Andrea again. We will also recommend them to anyone who wants an "off the beaten path", hospitable experience.

We found Casa Yaguarete on Tripadvisor - so glad we did. When we arrived in Iguazu, we gave the directions that Lorena gave us to the taxi driver and he took us right there - no problem.

Our hosts were there to receive us, we sat and had some mate. Next they gave us some suggestions on what we could do before we took off to the falls the next day. That night we had a delicious dinner there with our hosts and some other guests. This made it the experience we wanted - not a big hotel experience. So much fun!!!

Our room was clean and the bed was so comfortable it was hard to get up and off to the falls. The best breakfast we had in our three weeks in Argentina. These two women know what the hospitality business is all about. I highly recommend travelers who want a different experience than the nondescript hotel to stay at Casa Yaguarete. And I hope they come and visit us in Alaska.

We were scheduled to stay at this B&B for 2 nights at the end of February. As it turns out they had some problems with the property due to inclimate weather. We were AMAZED that they still arranged for us to be picked up at the airport and then transported to different property for our stay. Loreno also checked in on us during our stay to make sure all was going well. So, although we didn't get to stay at Casa Yaguarete, I would highly recommend it for the service provided. We didn't lose any time or effort trying to find alternate accommodation. They looked after everything for us and it was all just fine! Great customer service!
