“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 23, 2013

A rehabilitation center for jungle animals who've been injured or captured by poachers. It isn't a zoo so when animals are rehabilitated they aren't kept for tourists to admire, but are released back into the wild whenever possible. You won't know for sure what animals you'll see but it's worth the visit.

“Great educational visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

I went here with my kids, ages 10 and 12, upon the recommendation of our guide. Totally worth it! Because Guira Oga is an animal rehabilitation center, it's much more than just a zoo. We had an English speaking guide (booked at the entrance) who was able to tell the wonderful and touching stories of each one of the animals in this center. It was really eye opening, and educational for the kids (and myself too!). Very well setup and managed. Clean. World class service. Highly recommended, especially if you have kids!

“Great way to see jungle animals”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Guira Oga means "bird house" in Guarani. There you can hike through the reserve to see all kinds of cool jungle animals: monkeys, toucans, anteaters, eagles, otters, and more! The animals enclosures are spacious and tasteful. The price seemed a little high, and the gift shop could use more variety.

“You get to see Toucans etc.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

I visited this wildlife sanctuary (they are very clear in stating that they are not a zoo) one day in July. The guides are very professional and many of them speak some English. They conduct tours in English during the peak tourist times. I was on a Spanish speaking tour which detracted a little for me as my Spanish is limited so I missed many of the animals stories, however the guide who did speak English was very kind and explained some things to me in English.

The park is in a nice setting and I enjoyed seeing the toucans in particular. They are a wildlife refuge and the entrance fee (75 pesos) helps to cover the costs of running the refuge.
