We stayed at the end of Feb/beginning of March 2011. It has both good points and bad points, but for us the bad points well outweighed the good ones.
We booked a double room for three days - it was well priced, spacious, with A/C, and an ensuite toilet and shower that was clean and comfortable enough. The hostel staff are friendly, there is free wifi, a pool, and a free breakfast. And it's directly opposite the bus station in Iguazu. All good so far.
On the morning of the second day the water supply dried up, so no flushing toilets for three days. The staff were apologetic but said there was nothing that they could do. (However, local restaurants and bars all seemed to have water, as did some parts of the hostel).
The kitchen was small, and again there was no water to wash up anything.
The breakfasts were nothing special - coffee, cereal and dry bread rolls - if we'd been able to use the kitchen we'd have done our own.
But by far the worst thing was that our bedroom was infested with bedbugs of some sort - easily the worst we've come across in 4 months of travelling across the world - every morning we woke up to more bites and more bedbug specks on the sheets. Nasty.
In fairness they refunded 30% of the stay for the lack of water and seemed shocked when we told them about the bedbugs, but our overall experience was not a happy one. This may or may not be a typical experience, but we felt we had to report it nonetheless.
