“Simply the best!”
Reviewed February 1, 2010

After a week spent in this hotel, we could simply....hope to make back in Simona's and Matteo's resort, one day!
The hotel is very clean, nice, but what make great your stay there is the wonderful cooking of the famous chef (retired in this paradise for a while). Matteo was a famous chef in a very big and famous restaurant in the Italian coast, close to Portofino and Venice.
Simona is really one of the most lovely and friendly hotel manager ever met.

We stayed at BHF for three nights in December 09 and had a lovely stay. The place has been lovingly designed and built from scratch by owner Simona and it shows - lovely grounds, comfortable rooms (which reminded me of higher-end bungalows in Thailand) and a very peaceful setting. Simona's husband Matteo is the chef of the restaurant - can't say we got to know him much (his English is a similar level to be Italian) but he's an amazing chef, which is lucky because there's not much else on the culinary front in Iguazu.

Good points - the setting and ambiance, the swimming pool, Simona (amazingly helpful about Iguazu, transport, food, the falls, and really friendly), Matteo (for his incredible food and looking a bit like Benicio del Toro) and baby Petra (cute cute cute. Though my fiancee now wants one which is bad news). And the food again.

Bad points - none. We had a shower issue one day and a small problem with our order one evening, but both times Simona sorted it out immediately.

This owners did such a great job of decorating and renovating this property. As you go from the falls to your hotel, you feel like you are in paradise. They serve dinner evernight outside ... which is nice because we didn't have to go anywhere in the evenings. The town is not very nice, so we enjoyed being able to stay in. The spaghetti was amazing ... the best spaghetti I have ever had!

Very nice place just outside Puerto Iguazu. The hotel is like a little paradise, after a long, warm, sweaty day at the waterfalls. You can jump in either the swimming pool or the jacuzzi and drink a soda or cocktail in the lovely garden.

Simona and Matteo are very helpful, Petra is mostly happy.

This is a very informal small 'hotel' with each room in separate cabins and a lovely personal service. My cabin was comfortable and spacious, with a table outside on a little terrace and even a hammock. It's in a residential part of Iguazu, and the setting is wonderfully green with loads of palm trees and exotic plants. Food is lovely & Simona was friendly & helpful (arranging my trip to the Falls, and encouraging me to be adventurous!). A good place to stay in Iguazu if you want somewhere small and personal, with a good restaurant - rather than one of the big hotels that seem to be the only other option. Two very minor issues: as a single traveller I felt a little bit out on a limb as this is definitely geared more to romantic couples; and the pool is too small to swim in. But these ARE minor things, and I would definitely recommend BHF to others. NB - visiting the Falls is a must if you go to Argentina.

Wow, what a refreshing surprise this hotel is. The owner, Simona, obviously put her heart and soul into creating this little oasis. Each bungalow is unique, nestled in artistically designed grounds. After a day at the falls, it was such a delight to spend a relaxing evening and great conversation with Simona. The creme de la creme was the fantastic Italian cuisine prepared by Simona's husband. We think this has to be the best place to stay in Puerto Iguazu and recommend it to anyone going to Iguazu Falls.

We found this hidden gem wonderful after long days at the Cataratas. The owners are lovely and all the staff are friendly. It is some way from the centre of town, but this was fine since we ate in the hotel every night. The owner is a chef from Italy and is fantastic; the food was brilliant. Nice pool, nice spa. Nothing bad to say really.
