After a long day touring the Iguazu waterfalls, we were ready to treat ourselves to some good food. We were not disappointed! Everything was excellently prepared and presented. The service was impecable and the prices are astonishingly affordable. Very much recommended.

We came here two nights during our stay in Iguazu, and the first time the meal was spectacular - probably the best meal we've had in Argentina. Hence, we came back a couple of nights later and although it wasn't nearly as good as the first time, it was okay. I had linguine fruition de mare (marinara) both times and my husband had the gnocchi with Gorgonzola the first night and risotto the second night. The portion of gnocchi was quite small and could have used some walnuts but was nice. The risotto was a bit gluey but okay.

We were very pleased we made the walk down (and back up!) the hill to Toscana. It was a great choice - something different from the parillas and all the meat we had been eating during our visit to Argentina.

The pasta was incredibly fresh and the sauces/fillings were delicious. The servings were just the right size.

The service was spot on.

Can't miss with this choice.

I use Tripadvisor reviews to help make decisions on where to eat - I don't bother to review. La Toscana is an exception because it is exceptional - you don't expect to find a really fine restaurant experence in a tourist trap like Iguazu.

I have learned to filter contributors' opinions, making allowances for their experiences and where they are from. The couple of less-than-very-good reviews of this place prove the point.

We became lost trying to find the restaurant tonight (January 13) - it is out of the way, beyond where you think it might be, "down the end of lonely street", past all the second-rate joints and then some. But it's worth the effort.

Make a reservation and keep it. The fresh pasta is as good as you will find anywhere on earth. Enjoy the wine list. (Personal favourite on a price/performance basis is the Del Fin Del Mundo reserve Malbec 140 pesos - and it's not from Mendoza).

If you don't realise this is very well done, much better than you deserve to find in such a town, well, stick to average steaks in the very average parrillas. I don't know what this talented team is doing in Iguazu. I wish they were in Sydney so I could go every couple of weeks.

And I won't use a pseudonym. If you're not prepared to put your name on a review, what are you scared of?

Damn - now I'll have to write more reviews.

We travelled to Argentina in December 2013 and started in El Calafate then to Barriloche, Salta and Iguazu. Meals were very ordinary and service nothing to write home about. we then discovered La Toscana Restaurant at the bottom of Cordoba Avenue in Iguazu. What an incredible find. First, the ambience and layout, the cleanliness and the general layout was everything one would have expected in a top class restaurant. The service was impeccable. Wine was offered then came complimentary bruchetta and bread. We had pasta which was fresh and delicious. Dessert was simarly great. It was a marvelous experience to have such a 1st class meal ina 3rd class country. We loved it so much we went back the next day and had an even better meal. If visiting Iguazu do not eat anywhere else

.
