“Unkept, old and dirty.”
Reviewed April 30, 2013

Dirty sheets (hair and dirt!!!), dirty swimming pool (leafs, plastic cup, cloudy water), broken tiles, ugly entrance (nothing to do with the main picture with a pretty wood cabin - no idea where that is! - I am attaching a picture of an actual entrance), dirty old kitchen.

So why am I giving it two stars?
Good location (5 minutes from bus terminal, 2 from a cab station), the staff treated us nice (let us keep bags in a room till 4:00pm) and the caipirina in their bar was great!

Tip: If you are going to Iguazu falls and are at least 3 person, take a cab, it's better and cheaper than bus. We paid 70 pesos (one way) thought the "official" price is 100.

Do not stay here. We paid for the more expensive 'better' private dbl room. It was terrible. The room stank, the sheets were dirty, the air conditioning didn't work properly. Outside the room is no better. The place looks like a construction yard, complete with rubbish lying around.

Worst of all, we were double charged as the reception wouldn't accept that we had paid the owner prior to arrival. They said we have to speak to him to get the online payment back. Needless to say, the owner's prompt replies before we stayed have dried up and he refuses to answer our emails.

I hope nobody stays here as they truly don't care and are ripping off tourists.

We stayed here with my wife for 3 nights in a private room. Did not leave the place finally as the location is good.

Everything else is terrible and we should have changed probably...
Shower and electricity fails to work time to time. The room was really dirty, no towels or toilet paper. They never cleaned during our stay. We rather used our own sleeping beds. The breakfast is poor and you find someting only before 8 o'clock.
The place is really noizy from the bar during the night, but obviously you can only bear this place drinking enough. There was a tv in the room but we never switched it on. It looked like someting from the 80s and the tv cable was pulled to the room trough the open window next to it. The airco was working when there was electricity, though it was loud. Do not recommend it at all.

One of the worst hostels i have seen in argentina. Big dead cocktroach under the beds, moulty walls and when i just wanted to lay down i saw à bedbug walking over the sheets... Enough reasons for me to leave that Same night. The receptionist didn't really care and was not planning to do anything about the bedbugs.. I went to hostel bambu, à really great and clean hostel!

The pool they have here is nice and extremely useful considering the heath in Puerto Iguazu. The breakfast they serve in the morning is really good, receiving eggs & bacon is a real plus. The beds could have been of a superior quality, but are in fact good enough for a few nights. The only true complaint I have was that the shower in our dorm didn't seem to work during the few days that I was there. Luckily there was another one somewhere else that we could use, so it didn't bother us that much.

First, you get a very old email as booking confirmation with wrong prices for local trips. People at receiption aren't really friendly (1 exception out of 4). Rooms and beds are not clean, seem like beeing unfinished and no lockers nor racks. A/C doen't work in every room. There is mold at the ceiling. The only good things are the central location and the very cheap prices. I would no one recommend this hostel.

This is by far the worst place I have ever encountered. Up a dark side street, we were greeted by a guy behind the reception desk who later denied that he was a staff member, despite having access to all room keys hanging on the hooks for anyone to grab and had access to the hostel computer. We thought we'd been rescued by another girl who was the receptionist. Her ability to accommodate us was negligible. I appreciate that not all staff should speak English, I blame myself entirely for not learning enough Spanish before arriving...BUT even though we showed her our booking reference ( I believe numbers and letters still look the same in Spanish as English) she was rude and incompetent and then she proceded to show us a dorm room that wreaked of mould, was run down and frankly a health hazard. eventually she showed us our actual private room that we had reserved. Again mouldy, smelly and unclean with the added bonus of live electrical wires projecting from the shower ceiling!
Needless to say we decided to bail and accept our £20/night loss. The receptionist could not care less that we were walking away and just shrugged her shoulders.

A fellow traveller we met had been in email correspondence with a person called Alejandro. when we asked to speak to him, we were told he was not available.

Clearly whoever this person is, is unaware how abismal the hostel is and that the staff are driving it into ground. Save yourself the disappointment and frustration of going there, the lonely planet recommendation was presumably based on a previous owner's running of the hostel.
