Hostel Park Iguazu

I was there when the weather didn't allow for pool visits - so I can't comment on that aspect.
Based on the other facilities though... Unfortunately not great. The bunk beds feel very rickety, my room was very dingy and bleak, because of the lack of light it had a bit of a basement feel to it.

There are several near-starving street dogs around the hostel at all times that are pitifully begging for any food they see. I wish they could all be fed and happy and one can't help but give them food, but at least they should be kept out of the kitchen as it seems pretty unhygienic.

The staff was very nice, but that alone won't make for a good stay.

Some rooms are very small with just a tiny window.

The rest is all good.

300m from the coach station, same distance to access bars and restaurants.

Cool backpackers' place with nice terrasse to chat and meet up travellers.

Many locals stay there given the crowd in the pool ;)

And big positive is that they have several big lockers with a key where you can fit your biggest backpacks (80l + 50l + mattress and tent easily fit)

Title says it all. A tired place that is in need of a revamp. Dark, dingy and dirty. Wish we had been more organised & searched for accommodation sooner - not much cheap choice here.

We booked a twin & got 2 sets of bunk beds to ourselves, the only bonus to that was my bed was ok but my husbands had bed bugs, and the bites showed up after we had left (a delayed reaction with bed bugs is common). Avoid staying here!

Rooms are old and tired. Mosquitoes, as this was summer. Place needs a revamp, and cleaning of compound. Some of the staff and good, others less so. Only one could speak some English, but all try to be helpful. Breakfast is simple: orange or apple, coffee, one kind of bread. Location is very near bus terminal, intercity and to the falls.

Travellers note. Only 1 ATM for Visa at Santander Bank, on Av Republica Argentina. Other is for MasterCard at Banco Nacional on Victoria Aquirre. Brazilian Real and USD cash get very good rates. I got 8.5 pesos to 1 USD.

In general we enjoyed staying in this hostel and had no major issues, just sometimes little irritations. But the overall atmosphere was for sure nice. It's rather a clean hostel, we had our room cleaned every day and even beds made. But still the blankets smelled a little, maybe from humidity. The 4-bed rooms are very small but have private bathroom. In the beginning we were the only ones to use the room, so it was perfect. But when another person arrived, we had to share one key of the room, and this was quite unconvenient. The room has huge lockers too, which can help in case you decide to not lock the room while wandering around the hostel's common areas. We loved ping-pong table, it was too cold for the pool. Maybe because it was rather cold at this time, the hostel was not crowded, but still in the evenings it would get almost too difficult to share kitchen with other travellers. I guess when it's full, it's more complicated, and then you'd have 4 persons in the tiny room too. There's a bar area that plays music at night, but not too loud and there were actually no people there, so it was no issue even if I'm usually sensitive to sounds. The staff were really friendly. All in all - at least in low season I can recommend this hostel, it's good value for money.

We had two rooms here. Both were very, very, humid (including matrasses and bed sheets) and therefore they smelled 'funny'. Rooms were not too clean and the bathrooms could use a make-over for sure. Breakfast is a little bread but comes with free fruit. The whole thing feels run down which is a pitty.

Pros: staff were very friendly, close to the restaurants and busstation, there is a lot of communal space (inside and outside), 24h open shop.

We paid 140 per person for a matrimonial room and 100 per person for a twin room, pre booked, high season (Argentine winter holiday).
Towels are free but you pay a deposit of 50p.

This is not the place to be if you are looking for some quiet. Externally the hostel has two parts, one with the bar and some music and the other with a swimming pool and more relaxing. The problem is that there were so many rooms and people that it was too noisy and the music stayed till late. Plus, the rooms were very small and old, bed sheets were not so clean.
On the other side, staff was very kind and location was good, just 3 blocks from the bus station.
