“Great location”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

This hotel really can't be beaten for location - right in the park so you can see the Falls from the reception. It also means you are in the park before many other tourists. A falls view room is a must - what a privilege to open the curtains to that view. The rooms have recently been refurbished so they were good and clean although very much standard Sheraton in style. Breakfast choice and quality was excellent - restaurant less good but there really isn't anywhere else to go. The point of staying here is the location and view which couldn't be faulted. Get up early and get the first train to Devils Throat when it is quiet. If you do the speedboat trip plan to do this at the end of the day as you get soaked - great fun though!

Room Tip: Falls View

Definitely the reason to stay at this hotel is the location inside the Park for Iguzu Falls. Hotel definitely needs major renovations! Location makes up for the high price as the hotel is maybe 3 stars at best.
We had 3rd floor falls view - spectacular view!
Hotel room small and basic. Bathroom - very small!
Restaurant - okay food but nothing great but the only place in the area to have dinner....
Breakfast was okay with relatively good selection however the cereal was limited to only a few choices and at least 2 of these were sweetened :-( Argentina seems to only have 3 different types of cereal in the country!!
WE were 'kicked' out of the park the first day we arrived, at 5:30 pm even though you are staying 'in the park' Unlike the Brasilian side where you can wander at all times of the day and night!
2 nights is sufficient as there are only a few trails and these were packed once the park officially opened!
The staff said it was dangerous to be in the park after 5:00 pm because of predators!! (it doesn't get dark until close to 8:00 pm!!)... However during a huge electrical storm one evening I still saw people swimming in the pool...what is more dangerous???
We walked to the Diablo Garganta Falls (3 km) at 7:30 both mornings so that we could experience the falls without loads of tourists! If you walk at 7:30 and arrive at 8:00 you have exactly 40 minutes to yourself before the hoardes arrive on the train!

Room Tip: Not much difference between 2nd and 3rd floor...we were asked if we wanted to wait for a 3rd room fl...

This is my second visit. First was 10 years earlier. Only hotel within the park. Rooms haven't changed. Cost has skyrocketed. Went one night without electricity or A/C. Considering the heat and humidity the $410 a night was just excessive. Very nice spa. Service personnel were could not have been more accommodating.

If you are go to Iguazu falls please splurge and stay at the Sheraton.
Two days is enough because not much to do besides visiting the falls.
The location is oh so perfect. You can hear and see the falls from the breakfast room. Direct path to the falls from the hotel.

There could not be a better located hotel. We visited the falls lower/upper/ devil's throat almost everyday. Even took a taxi to the brazil side (must do). The hotel arranged for a taxi.

Room Tip: you don't have to pay the extra $$ for the falls view becuase you can walk to the falls. Plan...

We spent 2 nights at the Sheraton. The location is great, the check in front line staff is fantastic - putting up with all that guests demands must be tough.

Our room was surprisingly good , considering the negative comments on the tripadvisor. We do have a problem with the room key which seems to work intermittently. Also, it is obvious that the management is not keeping up with the maintenance - the lock to our balcony door is broken and we were told to use the child lock for security !

Complimentary water - you get 1 bottle of water PER ROOM PER DAY. You would have thought that with the price the hotel charge, you would at the very least get a bottle each.

Food is generally decent considering the location. The salad on my husband's steak looks sad and dry. The waiters in the restaurant will tell you directly that service tips have not been included in the bill, ie don't forget to tip regardless !!

Unless there is another decent hotel on the Argentina side of the falls, the negative comments on Tripadvisor will continue to flow, and the hotel management will continue to turn a blind eye, and continue to milk the captive market for every penny.

When we do come back in the future, we will be staying at the hotel within the Brazilian park of the falls - there are more walks available and the falls are more spectacular .

This is a very mediocre hotel that thinks it's a luxury establishment and charges as if it were. There is no denying that this is THE place to stay while visiting the Argentinian side of Iguazu Falls. The access to the falls is worth the cost of the room. No other property is closer or has better views. The rooms could use a make over; ours looked like it was standard issue Sheraton; save for the view you could have been anywhere. It is worth it to spring for the falls view. Who knows if you'll ever get back here. The breakfast buffet was very nice but the same restaurant at dinner was a huge disappointment. Unfortunately they are the only game in town unless you want to pay the $40 round trip into the lackluster local village. Most people only stay for 1 or 2 nights which is all you'll need to experience this side of the falls. And it truly is an awe inspiring sight.

We stayed at Sheraton Iguazu Resort & Spa for two nights on 21 and 22 December 2013. We had a room on the second floor facing the Iguazu Falls. The reception staff and the porter were friendly. When we opened our room and had a quick check, we found a small dead yellow bird on the chair at the balcony. We thought the Sheraton should make a thorough check before the next guests arrived. But it was a small matter. We liked photography and we made use of the balcony to practise taking distant photographs of the falls. From the balcony we could able to take photographs of the sunrise and sunset. If not it was unnecessary to have a room facing the falls, any rooms was all right. Although we stayed at the Sheraton Hotel which situated in the park, we were not able to walk up to the falls in the evening because the trail to the falls and various sites were closed from 5 pm and opened at 8 am. One advantage was that hotel guests could go the falls after breakfast when the gate opened at 8 am and the outside tourists were not present yet. The room and breakfast were acceptable.

Room Tip: Any room is good

I apology for the inconveniences you had to encounter during your last stay. Your comments are very constructive for us.
I`ts good to remember that the park it`s close during sunrise and sunset because this is when animals are more active.
We look forward to welcoming you again on your next visit to the land of the falls.
Sincerely, Cristian.
