“Better chose another one”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2013

Location of the hotel us great,it's in the park. But! To enter the hotel you must buy entrance tickets for all of your group/family members anyway.
If your room number has jungle view, you see parking and forest,of course it's nice. But the waterfall you may see only from the lobby bar, even on breakfast it's hardly viewed as the jungle forest is very high.
The hotel is ok,but the price for it is not worthy.
Better live in Puerto Iguazu, hotels are better, you can walk to the center of the city to have dinner in different places.

We stayed two nights at the Sheraton resort. We booked a room on the top floor facing the falls!!The view was outstanding and it was worth the price (about $500 a night-including taxes and a hot breakfast. Because the hotel is inside the park, we had to pay an entrance fee ( 320 pesos to get in that gave us access to the park. We spent two days walking around the park and enjoying the waterfalls-they are amazing, especially the devil's throat!! The room was not that spectacular ,but had the view! The staff was fine in welcoming us, but beware of the ones that work in the bar- very unfriendly!!! Since town (Iguazu) is a taxi ride away (265 pesos) or the hotel shuttle (a little cheaper) you seem to be forced to eat at the restaurant of the hotel..prices vary and wine and drinks may add to the cost..Overall, the waterfalls are not to be missed, if you want to pay the price of what Sheraton charges or stay in town for cheaper and take the train or taxi to the park (You still need to pay the 360 pesos).

Room Tip: If you can afford, choose the rooms with the view of the falls!

This hotel is right where you want to be, easy access to the falls on the Argentinian side. Well equipped with pool, gym and has a wi fi station where you can access information.
The bar has a view of the falls, is well priced and offers a good selection for lunch and light dinner without being overpriced. Breakfast was included and the choices were endless.....
Rooms were quite large however the shower pressure was pretty poor. Lock the doors because the monkeys visit in the afternoon... they can open the sliding verandah doors.
If you have a late check out you can use the gym, which had excellent shower pressure, towels and freshen up for your departure.
Dont stay in town, nothing but eateries there and a bus trip to the falls...

Room Tip: Jungle room fine but if you can afford a view of the falls that would be priceless.

We are glad we came here, and our only regret is not having stayed longer. The reason we did NOT schedule a longer stay is because of all the reviews that said Iguazu Falls only merits a 1-night stay. WRONG! It is true that the Falls themselves can be seen in 1 long day (although even then, you will need to walk quickly and not spend too much time enjoying what you are seeing). If, however, you want to see the Falls, and the jungle/forest trails that are in the park but not actually part of the Falls; and/or go to the Brazil side, and/or just relax at the hotel, you will need at least 2 or 3 full days. From the outside, the hotel is drab, at best. Inside, however, the restaurants and rooms are comfortable. We thought the breakfast buffet was fantastic. We had a falls-view room and thought it was worth it. We did not have a jungle-view room, so cannot comment on that. As for price: it's expensive, but not out-of-line for other Sheratons in luxury spots. We went in September, so that may have had an impact on the price. We thought it was worth it, but we're from New York, so our perspective may be off.
Reasons we did not give a 5-point rating: although the breakfast buffet was great, the other meal options for vegetarians were poor; and the staff was more interested in accommodating the large conference that was there at the time, rather than us.

Room Tip: Loved the falls-view room with the terrace.

The Sheraton Iguazu Resort and Spa is a hotel that is situated about a 15 minute walk from the amazing Iguazu Falls. For that reason alone, a traveler should want to stay at this property. The hotel itself is pleasant and the rooms are comfortable, clean and very adequate. My wife and I usually stay in "high end" hotels, and we had no problem with our room. I would suggest that the choice of a room with a view of the falls is well worth the money, but one should make budget choices based on their own needs.
The problem with the hotel is the staff. We arrived at 3:30 PM and we were told that our room was not ready and would not be available for more than an hour. They said that they did have another room available on a lower floor and that the view of the falls was just as good. We took that room because we were tired from our travel from the States and we wanted to change and see the falls before the park closed. The view from the higher floors is clearly better.
The next morning when I asked for a late checkout, I was informed that checkout was at 10:00 AM!!!!! ... And they wanted us out of the room no later than 10:00 AM. We argued for several minutes about the fact that our room that we had reserved was not available to us until 5:00 PM at which point we were informed that one had nothing to do with the other. We were also told that if we were not checked out by 10:00 AM that we would be charged $20.00 an hour! They did offer us a place to put our luggage and offered us a bathroom to change if we wanted, but they were adamant about us vacating our room.
The experience left a very bad taste in our mouths, but in retrospect, I would probably refer friends to the hotel because of its great location. Perhaps if one were to visit the falls, they should consider doing it in Brazil, where I understand the hotel is superior.

Room Tip: Higher floors with a view of the falls are the best.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a package and to be honest I didn't rate it that much. The rooms are ok. The tv in the room is in the main not English. I know why should it be, but even CNN , the picture quality was so bad it was unwatchable. The buffet was the same each day, very un interesting. The beef fillet was as tough as old boots. The ribeye the next day was even worse.
The gardens however and the view of the Falls was the highlight of staying there

Yep, they have you. The location cannot be beat and they know it. I'm not sure I have much in the way to add to other's comments, other than just buck up and pay the ridiculous overpriced fee for the pleasure of staying here. I agree with others that you do NOT need to pay for a room with a view of the falls -- assuming you're planning to hike to them anyway. My other tip is they will tell you to eat downstairs in their overpriced restaurant, but do not tell you that you can order a little less expensive food in the lobby bar. My only other recommendation is GET UP EARLY! Hike the superior and inferior trails before the tour buses arrive and you will have them virtually to yourself. Then, you can take advantage of the pool.

Room Tip: Just get the best price you can from whatever web site you find offers the best price.
